Does anyone know how to make it so i can hear more turbo spool sound? Is anyone making a replacement tube for our trucks?

I removed it on my rho, ill make a video of the sound increase tomorrow morning.

The filter is also pretty thick, about 2 inches im guessing. That could be absorbing some of the sound. I'm working on a new filter design that's thinner. No need for the 2" thick filter for pavement driving.

What did you put in place of the silencer part?

So with what you did, you can definitely hear the spool more?
Slightly more. You hear the turbos spooling up around 2.5k rpm and but by then the exhaust drowning it out. I'm assuming the sound restriction is also coming from the thick air filter. It's meant for off road filtration.

This is what I have in place of the silencer. I'm going to powder cost it wrinkle black but I want to test it first to see if it was worth it. And it was.

4" by how long? Figure you did all the work, I need the easy button. 🤣

Chris

I had to buy some new rode mics so I can capture the sound with out the road noise. I recorded a video this morning on my way to work. I watched it after parking to verify, and you can finally hear the turbo spooling up. I'll upload it during my lunch, I have to trim down the length.

From the manufacturer standpoint, what would be the benefit of including the silencer tube in the first place?

Just trying to understand the tradeoffs that any mod comes with.

Trying to please the masses, most people want vehicles with little to no NVH.

THAT looks awesome!!!

Would black powder coating increase its heat absorbing qualities? I mean, once you re-install the engine cover, you won’t see most of it anyway.

Kudos for being the 1st (at least that I’ve seen).

That is gonna kill mpg, and I am not talking about what's connected to the tube, I am talking about what's connected to me ear 🦶

I wonder if the tube could be easily gutted for a more factory appearance, don't have my truck yet, any pics of the inside of the tube or is it a wild shape and just not that simple to gut?

Maybe I need to use headphones, but tire noise seems to be the most prominent thing I’m hearing…along with that “sporty” I6 exhaust.

Not meaning to throw any shade. I think what you are trying to do is terrific!

It's all good. Everything you stated, I mentioned in my first couple of comments. The exhaust drowns the intake sound the second you give it more gas.
