Software update

How do you know if it updates?
I'm guessing, based on my experience (I'm a Software Analyst)...

If you go through the Truck's System Settings, you should have an Update tab or some sort of System Information tab displaying the Update version.

I'll find the exact nomenclature the next time I'm in the truck.

Appears this update is helping a number of trucks… Almost zero battery issue posts since the update came out and forum posts seem to be far less centered around issues

What’s the update number? I’m not sure mine has been done yet

The update displays a message with 2 choices. You can do it immediately or schedule it. The instructions tell you the vehicle needs to be
off and in park.
I selected the now option, turned the truck off, locked the door and when I came back an hour later it was all done.

I got the update message late last week. set it up to update that night. The next morning I got a message saying the update was not completed because this update no longer exists.

Mine had same message when I told it to install overnight. Today it asked again and I checked to do it now and it updated.

Post #7 in this thread contains the TSB associated with the update. It also contains the version number of software update involved.

So interesting observation I made after few days of over the air software update. My truck used to run at 14.5 volts only on first drive or about an hour and for rest of the day would settle at 13.6-13.8 volts. Only first drive of the day would run at 14.5 volts. My last two days after software update it's constantly at 14.5 volts no matter how many drives or how long I drive. Had the truck already for 4 months so not sure if it's random but with so much battery issues I always kept an eye on charge level. Also never had battery issues for 4 months even when it would sit all week.

Also during first month I took 4 hours trip and got stuck during snow storm that turned it into 11 hours trip. During this 11 hours drive stuck in snow I was very worried because my battery charge level dropped to 12.6 volts. Reading all this dead battery issues before getting a truck and taking this trip let's just say I was driving worried watching my charge drop to 12.6.

sounds like the update fixed an issue

So I got the notification for an update, told the truck to update overnight and when I got in the truck the next day it said the update had been canceled and would return at a later date... Weird.

Had same message and since I wasn't home selected to do overnight. Day later same update pulled up and I pulled into house so did it right away.

I sure hope you are right! I should be picking mine up very soon and driving it home and I'd be lying if I said the battery letting me down in Bum F LA/MS/AL hadn't crossed my mind.

hmm still haven't seen this update guess I should check to see what version I am running.

I haven’t gotten any notifications either. Do we have to be hooked up to home WiFi? I never did that over battery draining concerns

No idea, just thought it was like any other update the radio will tell us

No need for wireless connectivity.

Downloads are installed by an OTA (over-the-air) connection or can be installed manually by a dealership service department.
