Software updates

Hello, @itsmekylep, @RDRHINO and others!

If you elect to visit your dealership for service or updates our team is also here as a means of support. Sometimes having an extra layer of support and communication is beneficial to the overall dealer experience, so feel free to send us a private message any time. We're always here!

This was mine…

Sounds like they were pretty thorough!

Sucks to hear about the idle issue, though.

Keep us posted. I’m curious if you see any noticeable improvements with the SW update.
Not a big deal my dealer does pretty good accommodating me. But if one of my lot techs handed a customer his keys with tire pressure warnings on, I’d be pretty embarrassed.

Mine did that last night too. One more thing to add to my list.....
Strange it acts like a carbureted old car that’s not warmed up. The lights went out and it caught itself and idled properly from there.

Oh and now the gas gauge reads in liters not MPG. Probably a setting I can change myself somewhere.

I dropped my 2025 RHO off at the dealer for its break-in oil change. They did 4 software updates - would not tell me details about them, just that they were "needed". Now there are some issues:
  1. Now when starting the truck, the console display lights up saying the "Brake System Alert! Your Brake System requires attention." But it goes away after about 10 seconds, and there are no warning lights in the cluster screen. Any ideas?
  2. Hands-free driving is now noticeably worse. Now it ping-pongs between the lines of the lanes, and many times it goes over the lines. That never happened before these SW updates. In fact right after the update it tried to stay with the passenger tires on the passenger-side lane lines - this happened for about 10 minutes and then gradually found its way back to the middle - I'm assuming it was doing some kind of calibration.
  3. Many of my settings were reset to default (eg. it was in km/hr instead of mi/h)

UPDATE: I did some more digging and broke this out into it's own forum post here: https://www.ram-rho.com/threads/brake-system-alert-after-sw-updates.3348/

Picked my truck up today. New batteries, 2 software updates , some loose fuel lines that were resting on top of the transmission (that’s a new one) so they secured them back in their hangers. Shark fin antenna replaced and had my upper control arms tightened up.

As the lot tech pulled my truck up and put it in park, idle dropped and the engine almost died, but it picked back up. We’ll see if that continues.
What was the reasoning for tightening the UCAs? I ask because something feels slightly loose in my front end.

Same here after updates. Btw did you notice the sensitivity of the gas pedal now?

Great to know there's more of us! Any others out there?

No I didn't notice any change in the sensitivity of the gas pedal. Though maybe I just didn't notice - I literally just bought the truck (used - it sat in someone's garage at <300 miles for a year) a week ago so I didn't get used to the original pedal response yet.

I have aftermarket. They claimed the ball joints were loose, but the advisor couldn’t really explain and I didn’t get to talk to the tech.

The clunking did go away, so something must have been loose, but I don’t understand what or how.

I see.. truck had the "dead" gas pedal that made me to put it into Sport mode most of the time, I even got the Roar Pedal as other people here.. but after the software updates now in "normal" settings it's very close to the sport mode sensitivity, but without the high RPM's and transmission "kicking"

I hit the 9100 mile mark. I decided to have the tires rotated at the dealership. My hope was that they would put the full sized spare on and get some use out of it. Unfortunately the service advisor said that I would have TPMS error's due to the lack of the sensor on the full-size spare! Fucking RAM went cheap and decided to save a few bucks! Having spent $82K on this truck I felt like I was miss led although not surprised.

While I was there they incorporated the same TSB's as described above. The truck initially had a Brake system failure error. I almost took it back but decided to see if it cleared on its own. Ram could do a much better job of communicating that these technical service bulletins are available! I have driven 550 miles since the service visit with no further anomalies.

For background, my RHO was built in June of this year and has 6,105 miles. Other than a few CEL incidents early on (which were cleared by turning off then on), the truck has been awesome.

I took mine in for the Purge Pump recall and they also performed 2 software updates this past Friday. It took all of 2 hours +. So far, everything has been working ok. I've not tried the hands free - but I will tomorrow on my drive from Detroit to Cleveland. My Uconnect did reboot this morning in the middle of my drive, but CarPlay wasn't connecting, so maybe that had to do with it? Other than that, I haven't noticed any difference. Gas pedal is not any more sensitive than it was prior to the update.

What's crazy to me is that this 'critical' Purge Pump recall has been out since Nov 12, yet I didn't receive an actual mailing on it until early December. I know it was hidden in the Ram App under "Customer Satisfaction Notices" (which is a ridiculous folder to put a critical recall under), but if one does not open the app frequently, how would you know? Anything critical in that app should be pushed to your phone notifications. Tagging @RamCares to see if there's anything they can suggest to the app developers.

My dealership on the other hand, sent me a text last week alerting me of the recall and sent me multiple dates for me to bring my vehicle in. I thought that was pretty convenient. They've been great over the years.

I'll let you all know about the drive tomorrow and if I notice anything else since the updates.

Mine was in the shop this morning for this exact thing. Did a few updates and when I got it back my fuel economy was also in km/L. Weird? If you go into vehicle settings on uconnect then click units you can change it back.

I agree. When I was a service manager and a new recall or bulletin came out, I would run reports to see who had that make/model and my advisors were on the phone contacting everyone. It’s free money! But no one seems to really care these days. Probably doesn’t pay well either, maybe .2 or .3 FRU’s.

I never could find anything on my app about it.

I just dropped off my truck to get that purge valve issue resolved along with 4 other updates I didn’t know about. Hope I don’t encounter any issues after pick up.

Made my trek from Detroit to Cleveland this morning and I'm happy to report that everything on the truck worked great after the updates. Hands Free driving was flawless and I ran it almost 45 minutes straight. All good (y)

I had mine in shop today and got the purge valve taken care of. Also, they updated the software for the B4C recall (instrument panel cluster) that took two hours. Should I assume that all TSBs were included in that?
