Software updates

I just picked mine back up for the purge valve recall, and asked them to check for other software recall / TSB updates. My truck received the following, without much description as to what these were for:

Recall B4C - Cluster Softwaree
Recall RRT - 25-197
Recall RRT - 25-237
Recall RRT - 25-239

I’d like to research what each of these did. I can see the cluster reset most of my settings, so clearly that took an update. Also, when I went to leave the lot my truck surged forward when I touched the gas pedal. Clearly there is some different tune on the throttle response at a minimum. I’ll be curious to see if that also improved my shift points in Auto mode.

I did also do a quick check, and I didn’t see an option for boost pressure gauge like the 2026 models have. I was hoping that might have snuck into an update.

They did my recall for the hose today told them no software updates unless it's a safety recall. Have four in the system like most but I'll hold off until my oil change when I take it back later on.

I agree. When I was a service manager and a new recall or bulletin came out, I would run reports to see who had that make/model and my advisors were on the phone contacting everyone. It’s free money! But no one seems to really care these days. Probably doesn’t pay well either, maybe .2 or .3 FRU’s.

I never could find anything on my app about it.

the throttle response improvement is great but feels less linear than before I would be mad if it's just wrongly calibrated pedal (they are supposed to calibrate everything again after each update and seems like they didn't as I'm getting the now famous "brake failure" message)

Unfortunately it was all powersports dealers and 1 Harley dealer. Never automotive. I’ve since changed career paths.

I got an oil change too with the flashes all performed as well.

I also felt the accelerator pedal was a bit more aggressive. I figured it was a placebo because I was coming from a loaner Cherokee…

The truck runs great after flsash updates. Possibly a bit better…

Heads up, gents. I’ve put on about 300mi since my update and I’ve had two times now that my cluster did not illuminate. I’d never encountered that before, so totally new problem for me. I’m both instances, it beeped and the restarted itself while I was driving.

I’ve also twice had the lane assist (top right button on the Connect display) disable itself.

Also, maybe just some setting I can’t figure out, but I can’t seem to get my gear number to show on the HUD any longer, even though it shows active on the custom HUD setup screen.

Also, the fix I was actually in for was my failed massaging seat. They spent a good deal of money on new parts to resolve it, and the exact same issue is present.

I feel like a Ran guinea pig right now.

I too see have seen a change in the throttle response after the update. Does not seem to be consistent as to when you feel / notice it.

Can anyone confirm if their HUD gear indicator is functional after the recall software updates? Mine now only functions if I am using paddles. As soon as I go to D mode, it disappears.

This is for both Advanced and Custom HUD layout options. Before the SW update, mine would show D2, D3, etc, which was pretty handy.

Update: Just had the display not start again, but this time I got a CEL when it restarted. That’s my first one ever, at 14k mi, and immediately after installing the recall SW updates.

They just called me back to tell me they’d like to order a new cluster for my truck… but they’d have to leave it at the dealer idle while they await its arrival so the mileage lines up.

I got a Jeep Compass for the time being.

I asked if it were possible to roll my software back to what it had prior. I’m not convinced new cluster hardware will solve the issue since there was no issue prior to the software update. I’m definitely not fond of the idea of leaving it there for an undefined amount of time awaiting this part… I’ve seen some others here who waited for an extended period.

That sucks. I’m thankful my dealer at least gave me a truck off the lot for an extended period of time.

If that cluster is back ordered, I’d start a case with Ram so they can try and expedite.

I’ll definitely tell em a hard no on the cluster recall. Never had an issue and don’t want one now.

Not funny, my wife went to get a door panel replaced under warranty and since she was handling it, I forgot to remove the DS.

Wife calls from the dealership and they are asking what is plugged into the obd port. They said they want to lift the hood and take a pic.

I’m like NO F’ING WAY!! Thankfully I was on speakerphone and said it’s just for the pedal booster. I said just tell them to disconnect it and no issues.

Whew!! Dodge(hahaha) a bullet.

just an update - this was popping up for like a week, not showing anymore (knock on the wood), I guess it fixed itself
