I wish this was the case for me. I just went in for my first oil change and asked the service manager guy about the tuner and warranty… more or less he was like… we gon void the shit out of that warranty if you install a tuner… lmao.My selling dealer said, “You treat us nice, we treat you nice.” As simple as that.
He was talking about looking the other way when modded vehicles enter service.
And just curious - Do you usually tip the service manager $20 to $40 on every visit ? Do you tip the porters when they pull your vehicle around ? Not being an ass, genuinely askingI wish this was the case for me. Last service the Ram dealer did, I bought them a dozen donuts and kolaches. Want them on my side if something happens lolAnd just curious - Do you usually tip the service manager $20 to $40 on every visit ? Do you tip the porters when they pull your vehicle around ? Is this actually a thing at dealerships? Maybe just me but I would feel awkward handing out change. Figured it would be better to be nice and not be a dick. I do like my service dept so maybe buying pizza wouldn't be a bad idea since I got warranty work coming upAnd just curious - Do you usually tip the service manager $20 to $40 on every visit ? $20-$40 is change....now we know who the roller is here in the house! Is this actually a thing at dealerships? Maybe just me but I would feel awkward handing out change. I didn't even know this was a thing. Should I be ashamed of myself? And just curious - Do you usually tip the service manager $20 to $40 on every visit ? Do you tip the porters when they pull your vehicle around ? Not being an ass, genuinely asking
Lol far from it. I just thought tips should go to services that needs it. Didn't think it would go far to a service manager at dealerships but not against it if it benefits me as well$20-$40 is change....now we know who the roller is here in the house!

And yeah everyone loves pizza!
Chris
I wouldn't tip the service manager per se, as they make the most money, but buying pizza , donuts etc that everyone can partake in, goes a long way imo.Lol far from it. Just spoke to my dealer while getting my first oil change and he stated that wouldn't mark anything about the tuner (if they saw it); however, when they run a scan on the module, it'll show aftermarket modifications to the truck. So, I think even if you installed, ran a map, flipped it back to stock, and removed it, the module would still notate / code the modifications. Not sure if that's true or not (maybe someone with more experience)....I've worked in dealerships as a service advisor in the past. Every dealership is different. At Audi they would flag a vin with TD1 if tuned which would deny warranty if any engine related issues came up.. It's the technician who would flag it. There are many cool technicians out there that will look the other way on tunes.
At the same Audi dealer I saw another tech tell a warranty adjuster that a Audi RS7 that needed a motor did not appear tuned (after telling me it was 100% tuned) to secure a $45k engine job.
Best to play dumb and ask questions to figure out what kind of dealership you are working with.
Been discussed ad nauseam. The piggybacks trick the computer leaving ZERO trace except if it was run hard and turned off immediate at the dealer.Just spoke to my dealer while getting my first oil change and he stated that wouldn't mark anything about the tuner (if they saw it); however, when they run a scan on the module, it'll show aftermarket modifications to the truck. He did conclude and say that a chance of something happening in the truck linked to the tuner would be small; however, if it did occur, the warranty would get voided. I think the bigger concern is the 10yr / 100k powertrain warranty that may get revoked. Thoughts?
Bro...thank you! Great insight and apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere; really new to the forum there were a LOT of search hits lol.Been discussed ad nauseam. The piggybacks trick the computer leaving ZERO trace except if it was run hard and turned off immediate at the dealer.
They MIGHT notice different fuel trims but that’s it. If you drive any distance to the dealer either with it removed or stock tune those trims are overwritten.
