I’ve taken mine on various intermediate level mountain trails here in Colorado. Poke around the forum and others have reports of taking them on similar. The limiting factor really is the width. At 88 inches wide, she’s a big girl but that’s what a big reason why the RHO looks so awesome and drives fantastic at high speed.
The other downside to technical trails is the long wheelbase. The RHO’s breakover angle is 22 degrees compare to ~26 for a Sasquatch package Bronco and 27 for a Wrangler Runicon X. Putting 37” tires will help, but I haven’t gone down that road yet.
There are many Jeep trails I can’t and/or won’t take my RHO because of those reasons. Now, I have been on trails and experienced 15-20 degree angles up/down and 5-10 degrees off camber (it feels like more than it is) without issue. But I also wasn’t on a shelf road with a 300 foot drop! I
For 95% of what I do, the RHO is perfect. As we know, the RHO/TRX are Baja trucks meant to fly over rough terrain and make heroic jumps at 100+ MPH. It’s a great daily and long-range highway champ. I’m sure there’s someone out there who has done the Rubicon trail with their RHO but Jeep trails are for Jeeps (and Broncos) in my humble opinion. I’m considering getting a used Wrangler or Bronco for the 10% of time I want to take a more challenging trail.
