Ionic volt electric steps and Gen3 BakFlip MX4 installed
I had a local shop install the Ionic Volt steps which they said it was a bit of a tedious process to install with all the wiring. Most our accustom to installing amp which plugs into OBD2 port. Amp was out of stock and I didnβt want to use my OBD2 port since Iβm installing the Cat6, not a fan of the splitters either. Steps look great though and function really well! Price point on the Ionic volt steps is great too, just over $1k. Steps retract quickly, going down when you open the door and then back up quickly when you close the door. Also, I love that you canβt see the steps are installed when they are retracted under the vehicle. Very happy with the look and function of the steps.
Installed Gen3 MX4 earlier today and it was pretty easy. Install took about an hour including clean up. This model is definitely a step up from previous versions in overall quality, fit, and finish. Iβm in Florida so look forward to see how it does with the rain and keeping water out. I know itβll have some water intrusion which I expect to be mainly at the tailgate on the corners. Also, they even sent some extra parts like replacement corner caps since they can wear over time. But, happy with the look and installation process. Look forward to seeing how it holds up.
