What's new

yellow explody warning (how my wife described it) | anyone else?

I actually disconnected both
Only need to pull Neg cable from the aux thats on top of the IBS sensor. That kills all power for a 12v reset.

I just experienced the same thing today after the truck stalled out on me at an intersection. The truck was in ECO mode while waiting for a light to change and then killed when I started to move. It luckily restarted right away, but I had those warning lights immediately pop up. Of course, they all cleared out after the next off/restart.

Eco mode? Like auto start stop was on?

UPDATE:

8/26, just received a call that the cluster is in; scheduled for next week
UPDATE: 9/8
New cluster installed, during validation the cluster started tossing errors; dealer ordered another cluster.

So now the dash changes brightness randomly, continues to have the previous warning messages and now a new one for AEB and Blind Spot, during which those functions are disabled.

The tech also left scratches under the glass directly in-front of the speedo, on the leather section of the dash and scratched the phone chargers. All in all, truck is 2 steps back from where it was.

Dealer buyback at this point?

Update. The dealer determined the axillary battery was bad and replaced it. They haven't been able to replicate any of the warning lights or CEL with the new battery installed, so we'll see how long that lasts since my truck normally sits in a garage for weeks at a time. On a side note, they've also ordered me a new exhaust system (OEM) since the exhaust valve is creating an annoying rattling noise when stopped or parked.

UPDATE: 9/19
2nd new cluster arrived, rather quickly actually
Dealer replaced it, called and gave the 'we are all golden' signal. I pick up the truck

I can't make this part up; they programmed the cluster with the wrong mileage. So now the dash and the rest of the truck don't match milage.

So...
They are ordering a 3rd cluster so the mileage will match.

But wait, it's actually worse.
In the interim, I did call @RamCares created a case; only to be informed by @RamCares that they don't engage unless the vehicle is physically at the dealer. At this point, I really dislike this RHO; I'm just over 1000 miles on the odo and it has been to the same dealer for 8 separate visits with a guaranteed 9th to get the 3rd cluster installed.

Fun fact: 20% of the milage on my RHO is me driving back and forth to the dealer

I think your dislike is misdirected. Hopefully the third time’s a charm!

If your truck is sitting for weeks at a time do you have a trickle charger on her?

Hi toast -- I'm sorry about this!

If you want to send me a message, I can look into whether we can help expedite the part (this may have already been done).

UPDATE: 9/29
Was out of town for a while, got back into the truck for the first time, the cluster errors are back, at start up, these randomly will be on the dash. After a few restarts they go away:
- Warning Light Illumination Unavailable Service Required
- ParkSense Rear Braking Assist Off
- Auto Emergency Braking (AEB) Limited Functionality Service Required

Kori, I've sent you a DM with the Case #.
thx

When my battery was failing I got these. If voltage is low when it starts it'll throw these. The fact that it happens after a long sit and go away after a few drive cycles makes me think this is probably your case too.

I had all of these issues as well. It was due to a few modules being bad mainly ABS Module - 687-08521AB. May want to have the dealer check that out.

interesting... I've gotten the msg both on initial start as well as after driving for a while. If anything, the most common scenario is after work in the parking lot at startup.

Who knows then. Worth checking cold voltage though

It's 100% the CMOS battery in the glove box.

Got my RHO back from the service department after 11 days.

It was around 1,600 km when I started getting intermittent blind-spot and AEB “limited functionality” warnings. When these pop up, the hands-free ADAS also stops working from time to time.

Immediately booked a service appointment when I first encountered the issue, and it was one week away from the time of booking.
During that week, I've had the experience where these lights sometimes come on after starting up, sometimes don't come on, and sometimes come on while driving.

Finally, on the day of my service appointment, I dropped off the truck in the morning, and they told me they fixed the problem the same day in the afternoon, which I wasn't expecting at all.
I've read online that people wait for a very long time to properly fix this issue. And I was right.

When I was there and picked up my truck, they told me they did a firmware/software update, which fixed the problem.
And here comes the funny part, the moment I took over the key and started it up, boom, the alerts are back on again lol.

So they took the truck back immediately, and this time it stayed there for 10 more days.

According to my service agent, the mechanics tore apart my RHO (I think just behind the rear seat, where the module and harness sit) and spent several days diagnosing. They eventually concluded it was the module itself, not a communication issue with the gateway or the harness.

Now I’m just waiting for the replacement module to arrive—likely another two weeks or so.

But what turned this dealer visit into a nightmare was what I found when I picked up my truck: a fresh ding on the side of the door.

The damage is right on the vertical edge of the door and looks like it happened while the door was open and got hit hard by another object or vehicle. The impact was strong enough to tear through the PPF and chip the paint underneath.

I can’t believe the very first damage to my brand-new truck happened at my dealership—whether by a mechanic or some careless person.

So now I’m not only waiting on the module, but also waiting for the dealer to provide a resolution. It’s going to cost about CAD $500 just to redo the PPF on the entire door, not to mention the hassle of repainting the chipped area. What a mess…

I think we both have the same module issue. Mine has been at the dealer for around three weeks now. Their communication has been minimal at best, but @RamCares has done a great job of getting a case number pushed along and the part expedited to the dealer. Hoping to have a resolution in the next few weeks.

But your damage story has me wanting to go check on my truck and see if there any issues since it's only ceramic coated and does not have PPF to help protect it.
