2027 Ram RHO rumors

I always thought the 6.4 was the right motor for a direct Raptor competitor, but, after seeing the numbers the 6.4 Rumble Bee is putting out, I'd be hard pressed to ditch the Hurricane for a 6.4. Per the numbers provided a 6.4 RB is .5 seconds slower to 60 mph than the RHO, and that's with the RB being set up as a street truck and the RHO rolling on heavy 35" tires. Drop a 6.4 in an RHO and I'd bet that gap jumps closer to a full second slower.
I agree with that, I’m no Hurricane hater, I love the engine. I’m just saying if that was an option, that’s probably what I would have ended up with. Not to mention from a sales perspective how many more RHO’s would have sold. I mean, people were so mad about the 5.7 being gone and they brought it back even though it’s light years behind the I6

No I agree, the more options, the better IMO. Maybe we'll see it in the next couple years since the Rumble Bee having a 6.4 makes it make sense as the platform now supports that motor, it wouldn't be hard to put it into a RHO as well. I'm just saying personally, I'm sticking with the hurricane over it lol.

same here, I would have bought RHO with 5.7 lol.. but now when I know how fast and smooth with the hurricane it is, 5.7 and 6.4 in rumblebee just sound like huge downgrade

I wish I knew the VIN coding (digits 4-8) for the Rumblebee.
SRFUP is the RHO
SRFU9 is the TRX
But since this is a quad cab, 5-7 bed, wide body, there’s no previous history. So it’s a big guess. When I get some spare time, I might run all possible scenarios on the missing build sheet serial numbers and see if I get lucky. Sure would be nice to figure it out.
Not sure if this is helpful at all.

I wish it did. That's a fake VIN that decodes as a 2021 TRX (but isn't actually a valid TRX VIN).

Digits 10-11 are "MN" which was the 2021 model year at SHAP. I have found other 2027 VINs that use "VN" there, so I know those are the proper digits. It's the "SRFU9" part that I can't figure out.
"S" is for the GVWR rating, and will almost surely be the same for the Rumblebee.
"RFU" is the body/cab/bed designation for a TRX. Since the Rumblebee is a quad cab, it will be different (but not sure what, since there's no previous config like this).
"9" is the engine code for the 6.2L SRT.

Edit: I should add that there are rumors it will be built in Saltillo, and that adds more complexity. A TRX built in Saltillo would decode as 3C6SRFU9xV4xxxxxx. But I've searched all the variants I can, and haven't found anything yet.

Either they are hiding the build sheets from the public, or I just haven't stumbled on the right sequence of letters yet. There's also a chance that they run way up high in the serial numbers like they did with the 2021 TRX (started at 900000 for the early ones, whereas the regular serial numbers started at 500001 that year).

Ah, was worth a shot.

When the TRX came out I said I would buy that truck if they offered it with the 6.4 Na motor. When the RHO was announced with the Hurricane HO. I was ecstatic about the idea and couldn’t wait to get my order in. There is absolutely no scenario that I would pick a 6.4 motor over a Hurricane HO. I loved the motor when I first heard about it in 2022.

I have a 2025 RHO, love it. Gremlins seems to be all worked out. After seeing what I think is Lunar Grey on the Rumble Bee, I am really hopeful that Lunar Grey is a color for 2027 on the RHO. I’m ready to put that order in.
Lunar gray would be awesome, especially if they can get rid of the two tone paint and make the whole thing one color.

My M4 with twin turbo I6 sold me on how nice they perform and sound. I love the sound of my stock exhaust.

What M4 do you have?

I had a 2025 M4 Competition AWD. I actually traded it for the RHO. Bought a Caddy CT5 Blackwing to replace it. The car was a rock star, but the dealer/maintenance/car nannies experience sucked.

Looks like they delayed big brither as well.

FMVSS No. 127 Requirement for 2027 Vehicles

FMVSS No. 127, the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) standard for light vehicles, is not yet required for 2027 vehicles.

The NHTSA’s final rule, adopted in 2024, sets the compliance date for all vehicles at September 1, 2029 www.revvhq.com+2. This means that for 2027 models, manufacturers are still allowed to produce vehicles without meeting the full AEB requirements, though they must ensure that by 2029 all new passenger cars and light trucks (with GVWR ≤ 10,000 lbs) are equipped with compliant AEB, pedestrian AEB, and forward collision warning systems www.revvhq.com+1.

I wonder if this will be as easy to implement as an over the air update?

Heck, I thought I already had it, the emergency braking system is very sensitive on my 2026 RHO.
