Down pipes!!!!

Why does it sound like it's blowing bubbles!???
Man I'm glad you caught that....thought it was just me! Is there a bong inside there or something?

It does sound good and I enjoy the burbles when the RPMs are dropping after the rev but the bubbles near the end kinda remind me of the videos of motorcycles without headers

Haha, yeah its a bit much. My BMW also did the same thing. It wasn't until a tune came out that you were able to remove them.

Im putting the new downpipes through there paces at the Eagles Canyon Raceway off road event today. High rpms and a very demanding course.

Datalogged post-turbo EGTs and saw a peak of 1340°F, which is solid given how hard the truck was working. Ambient temps were 95–98°F during the runs. I was holding 4k–6.5k RPM for extended periods, mainly in 1st and 2nd gear, occasionally hitting fuel cut at redline. 3rd gear was rarely usable due to terrain and traction. AFR stayed consistent between 14.4 and 14.8, right where it should be.

This was all under heavy load — jumps, inclines, declines, and constant throttle modulation. You can simulate anything in software, but until you test it in the real world, you won’t know how it truly performs. Spool-up was noticeably quicker — not quite catless-level fast, but definitely an improvement over stock. Overall, a solid upgrade for a high-flow catted setup.

Testing was done at Eagle Canyon Raceway during an off-road event.

Any video from the run? Bet that was a blast!

Yeah, I was able to get 1 video. Unfortunately my Insta360 over heats very easily and stops recording, I regret ever buying it. Ill try to edit it tonight, and get it uploaded.

I’d be interested in filter and tube. Have interest in the down pipes but not till I figure out exhaust.

I've placed an order with AFE for some filters about a month but they haven't shipped. They must have a high demand for them. I'll have a package deal for it.

Just shoot me a PM when you’re ready. Black tube will be good for me. I’d take that when ever.

Do you have any pictures of your downpipes? I was looking to run them with the factory exhaust to keep it as quiet at possible but hopefully gain a little turbine noise

All that noise and your average speed is 18 , I'm a fan of what your doing but go faster next time try 60 slide around some lmao

Yeah, I stayed in 1st and 2nd gear most of the time, as I mentioned before hand. It wasn't about the speed but loading up the catalytic converter to see how they handled and also monitoring egts/afr.

This wasn't the only run I made, I also ran the other tracks but I stopped after flat landing.

If you're in the DFW area, I'll pay your entrance fee and gas for the event BUT ONLY if you do 60mph around those corners and hairpin turns.

I wish I was lol have you there to bail me out

To be honest I'd probably right behind you, just not at 60 haha

You'll gain some turbine sound. I do have pictures, but they are a bit rough looking. These are MY downpipes, so I wasn't to preoccupied with making them look nice. I will tell you this, they have 4" tubing from the turbo down to the firewall, and then down to 3" because of the tight spacing from both DPs. The larger diameter will reduce back pressure on the turbine, allowing for a "quicker" spool and aid with egt.

I know you didn’t do a pre cat dyno, but there are plenty of stock RHO dyno tests showing about 466 to the wheels. It would be interesting to see it on a dyno anyway. Like you said the cat back isn’t really going to do much so it would give us a vague idea of power gain, and how much quicker it spools.
I would love to hear it with the stock exhaust. I think it would sound good. Although I wouldn’t be doing it for sound. I’m more interested in the performance gain.

I just moved to the DFW area. We'll have to meet up sometime
