Exhaust - Magnaflow vs AWE vs MRT vs Others

I get no drone to my ears at highway speeds. I do get a slightly annoying resonance during gradual to moderate acceleration around 2,000 - 2,300rpms. I’m not sure if I would call it a drone, I think drone is generally during steady rpms.

I’ve only towed with it once and didn’t notice any different characteristics. To be honest, the resonance I mentioned above might have been less pronounced when towing.

I don’t think I would tolerate the other systems at highway speeds. The Trail Rated seems to refine the sound, it’s much smoother and the tone is slightly deeper. The others all seem to significantly increase the dB level which I think would bother me at highway speeds regardless of whether you would call it a drone or not.

AWE installed. It's okay - not great...probably not worth the cost. Definitely louder than stock, but not a huge difference to me.

I am hunting for an exhaust also. I am leaning towards AWE but I feel like I need to wait for the Corsa to come out to make a decision. I did just come from a Hemi with a Borla exhaust, which sounded amazing, but I grew up in The Fast and the Furious world so an inline 6 TT is also music to my ears.

Yeah they explain it well, and use high quality stainless steel T304. And yoh can adjust the exhaust tips which I like, I just wish tips were black. They look chromeat the ends with carbon fiber around it. Good price right now too.

Absolutely with you on the tips. Maybe trying to be different, but at least allow the option to have black or black chrome tips! Good luck on your exhaust decision. I look forward to hearing your review if you go for it

I think I'm leaning towards the MRT Trail Rated setup at this point. For the price, it seems to check a lot of boxes at a good value. I reached out to them about drone while towing and they didn't seem to think it would be an issue, they have the setup rated at low drone.

Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t Corsa release the pre-release video clips of their RHO exhaust over a year ago, in January of 2025, and they continue to refuse to say anything about the release date other than they still don’t have one, over a year later?!

That sounds like a company that’s possibly given up on this altogether. Could be just me but I didn’t even think the system sounded good on the video they released last year.

I would love to see another option for us but Corsa inspires zero confidence in me at this point.

You could always get the extreme from MRT... and if it's not your jam, get the trail rated kit to add it. That's what I did... the extreme is pretty damn loud and I get a good amount of drone while towing and on the highway....

.... and having said that, never installed the trail rated, still sitting in a box in the garage.

From a guy on an RHO Facebook group the rumor is March. His truck has been the test mule for Corsa. He has posted some videos on Facebook during the process, but Corsa will release the final sound video.

Have you listened to the MBRP? Sounds pretty deep not sure if it is loud enough for you. I looking at that one, as I would like a deeper tone. I agree with you on AWE and MRT being too raspy.

I've only been able to find one video on it, but it does seem like a slightly deeper different tone from the awe/MRT extreme. I'm also just looking for a deeper tone, it can definitely be done on these I6s

Admittedly, I probably commented too soon. AWE exhaust is definitely growing on me. Look forward to warmer weather so I can enjoy it with windows down.

I have the MRT Extreme and love it. The bark is there when you want it or you can keep the RPM’s low and no one can notice. I did notice a little drone (very little) when I first installed it around 82 MPH however, I recently changed my drive mode to custom and have the transmission set to sport. In this setting, I have not heard any drone. The customer service at MRT is also fantastic.

I have the MagnaFlow xMod on mine and started with the Speq setup and a valve delete and it was a bit too much drone for me at that 60-70mph range, so I swapped to the street setup, which is better for my needs. The Speq is definitely louder and deeper than stock. Just depends on what you’re looking for. The MF xMOD is pricey, but I like the options to customize the sound.

The guy from Facebook who was doing some testing for Corsa said they finally have it dialed in. I know we've heard this for a year now, but he said they should release it in March. No sound clips yet. I was about to buy the AWE, but want to see what Corsa comes up with. Apparently they were having some drone issues they've been trying to eliminate. We'll see

How much drone did you experience? How loud and was it higher pitched tone? Trying to make a decision between SPEQ or xMOD

So the sound of the SPEQ is not raspy, but the drone was noticeably loud in the cabin, but again that is also with the valve delete. Some may like it, but it was a bit much for me. What’s great about the XMOD is that you have options in the kit. I moved to the street setup and it’s perfect now. Overall the system is pretty good for a flat six.
