Exhaust Options

Sounds way better! Still waiting on my RHO, I do have a question. Why does it sit on high idle so long? Sure doesn't seem like it is cold outside.
Mine starts this way every time the engine is cold. I’m sure the neighbors would love to give your their opinion of the idle lolz

Yeah, it’s pretty loud on cold start. But once it settles down it sounds really good. Videos don’t really capture its sound like it is in person. It’s not just a louder version of the stock exhaust, it’s a deeper tone. Once the cold start goes away, it’s almost the same decibel as stock, just deeper.

Cruising sound is even better and at highway speeds dare I say it’s quieter than stock.

If people are really worried about neighbors, you could start it then throw it in drive. Should remove the high rev. But you’re also defeating the purpose so should let it idle a little longer prior to driving off.

Not to sound mean but I don't care about what my neighbors think. Currently have Hemi with Borla Atak. So feel this would be a bit tamer except for how long it is on high idle.

Agreed. Neighbors can deal with it. I always let mine warm to operating temps.

Couldn’t agree more, I don’t care either and honestly can’t really hear it running when I’m inside the house. Just saying, some are a little more sensitive and it’s understandable. Both the VP and President of our HOA live right across the street and zero complaints.

Good news on Borla. Seems the last one is now Corsa.

I sometimes forget how lucky I am to not have neighbors.

Also I feel like Borla and Corsa have been "coming soon" for 4 months now. Is MBRP still working on one too?

Borla told me in March they are 3 weeks away and after just never replied to me. I wonder if they were not happy with result.

I spoke with Borla yesterday. It's now pushed out to August. This is starting to look like the Buell Super Cruiser release. The finish line keeps moving and I'd be willing to bet August won't happen either.

In terms of everyone worrying about an aftermarket exhaust being loud...why? Isn't that part of the point? Give it a more aggressive sound. If you don't want it to be loud, keep the stock exhaust on.

Don't tempt me ha ha. I've been kicking the idea around for a minute. The cats are the expensive part, $1500 for EPA friendly high flow cats that wont fly apart or cook off the coating in 25k miles.
Going to build some DP's with G-Sport Ultra High Flow Gen2 Cats. Will flow like an open 3" pipe but EPA 49 state compliant and no codes! Will lower EGT's and spool time because that's what reducing back pressure does on turbo vehicles. Should be a nice bump in HP and TQ over factory as well and the more you flow the more you gain. Turbo noises? maybe... we'll see.

For those talking about cost, cats alone are $1,544 a pair before tax and shipping. I know because I just bought some lol. For funsies OE downpipes are $5,500 retail !!

There is cheaper shit out there but it is cheaper shit....

At any rate I'll have a set built in a month or so and we'll see what it do...
