Has anyone had a dead battery?

You jumped it 6 times in 5 days and only after that stopped working did you decide to take it in?
That's 3 new people joined around 6:45am to bump threads with weird stories. 🤔🧐

My guess (for this one at least) is they googled the issue they were having and that search brought them right to this thread

I had my new RHO for 5 days and jumped it 6 times before it wouldn't jump and I had it towed to a dealer. The dealer claims it needs a "Digital Key Control Module" which is on backorder. It's been sitting at the dealer for 15 days. I haven't set up my phone to use as a key in UConnect so I assume this part also controls the key fob or contains a receiver for the key fob. Has anyone else had this issue?
Update: after 21 days at the dealer I went to pick up my RHO. They said they replaced the Key Control Module as well as both batteries. They went to bring it around for me but it wouldn't start. So they put me back in the loaner. This is painful. At what point do I push the dealer to take it back?

That's not really an option commonly available. What you should be doing is researching lemon law in your state and opening a retention case with Ram. The buyback will come from Ram, not the dealer, if at all. And if they are not interested in doing that, you need to be documenting everything so that you can open a lemon law case and handle it that way.

I thought I dodged the bullet on the battery issue. Not once have I had an issue until I did. Walked out this morning- completely unresponsive. Had to unlock with the physical key. Once jumped, went straight to the dealership…

How many miles?

How many miles?
9,366 miles
The dealership called already. Said they put both batteries under test, and both batteries failed. They have now changed out both of them.
This is my daily driver, so its not like the truck was sitting and draining the battery. I drive 30-45 min each way daily, so there is plenty of time for the battery to charge.

Well damn. I'm right at that same mileage and was hoping I was out of the woods. Best of luck with the new batteries

If I were in Tim Kuniskis' shoes, I'd be having a serious discussion with RAM's battery supplier.

RAM doesn't manufacture its batteries, but they sure are getting slapped in the ding-ding for all the failures.

Anyone notice their stop/start was not working for a period of time before the dead truck/batteries? I shut my ASS off 99.9% of the time when starting up, but noticed last week it does not work any longer. We had a '19 JLU with the same symptom a couple of years back. First the ASS stopped working, then a few weeks later, Wrangler dead in the garage. Jumped it, brought it in and they replaced both batteries. Seems they are wired in series. Once the little one goes (dedicated to ASS), it draws off the main until it drains completely as well.
I am a 4k miles with a few minor code gremlins. I called my dealer to get ahead of this and just have them replace the batteries.

I have the Auto-Start Eliminator installed, so I never gave this another thought.

Just kidding

I've already had it replaced once At around 800 miles. Was throwing codes, but no drivability issues.

Today, out of the blue, parked it last night and now, dead battery completely dead. Couldn't even unlock the truck with the key. Dead dead .

Jumped it, now a million codes as usual. Driving, voltage peaks at 12.8. Idle, sitting at 12.7

Keys both sleep on the opposite and of the house, about 240 feet away.

Dumb.....
Had mine replaced today had a crack and acid smell was strong could have caused a fire

Was leaving security job last night...automatic door unlock didn't work...new i was screwed. 1100 miles completely dead...jump pack wouldn't turn motor over...not happy

Having both of mine replaced for the 2nd time. Dealer says there's no draw but I don't know that I trust that. Batteries don't just go bad in 6 weeks

I guess you're the one who couldn't figure out that there was a reason why I couldn't get it to the dealer sooner. I knew there'd be one.
