How easily is RHO stolen?

What you will see here in the Houston area, GMC and Chevys are stolen all day everyday. There have a been a few Rams, mostly TRXs....yet to see an RHO stolen...definitely not on here to say it won't happen, but the crime rings around here want the GMs right now. I'll probably just do a kill switch on mine.

Just don't do one of the plug-and-play kill switches that plugs into your push-to-start button. That's the first place thieves look when troubleshooting.

That is nice to hear. As soon as I get the truck I will have it in the shop for the anti theft. Looking forward to taking delivery, and it will be nice to be back in a truck

I plan on the Compustar and IGLA combo, I also looked at Tazer, but they don’t have a model for the RHO yet

Avoid the Tazer for security stuff. First, it's easily found and removed. Second, it has a tendency to brick peoples' trucks.

Tazer is not an anti theft, its barely an options changer. You can remove it, make a new key, relearn throttle parameters and drive away

Making a new key is how these (or TRX's) are usually stolen, correct? If so, how do they do it? By plugging into the Obd2?

Trying to learn more about this, especially since I'm considering a '27 TRX purchase.

If I learn enough about it, maybe I'll just steal a TRX instead of buying one

I have troubles getting into and starting my truck, and I have keys it's totally annoying but maybe it would be harder to steal too

I live in a very safe area of Wisconsin so do not worry about it. But 2 weeks ago I came home from a Mexico vacation to find my window shattered at Ohare airport. They broke in looking for anything they could. Oddly enough didn't find my handgun and left my girlfriends laptop but stole her winter jacket? Found out later my ladies keys were in her jacket for some reason... do not get me started... and I keep a spare on her keys... They could have easily just drove the truck off. Moral of the story, if someone wants in, they will get in and still doesn't even guarantee they will take the truck. A lot of them are clueless low lives.

You don’t use the obd to make a key on newer mopars

On the TRX they plug into the CANbus with a programmer (the kind that reads codes and programs keys), they wipe your keys from the memory, and program a key they brought with them (a blank). They can then drive it like you do no problems.

IGLA blocks the CANbus, preventing them from doing that. If they do a relay attack (antenna to extend the range of your fob by your door on a hook) they’ll get it started, but IGLA doesn’t let it go into gear. Only way to steal an IGLA equipped TRX is to load it on a flatbed.

Keep in mind that the SRT TRX will have the same setup as the RHO. So anything that has changed with the new CAN architecture will carry over to the new TRX.

No, if that was the case then we wouldn’t be installing IGLA into an RHO, Wagoneers, Grand Wagoneers, Grand Cherokee L’s ect. They steal RHO’s up north and will be on a regular here before long.

The irony is with all the bullshit electrical problems on the new architecture that require warranty work, I wonder if they'll start denying claims due to having an aftermarket system hooked up to the CANbus (if they can even see that it is?).

I wouldn't imagine they would, but still curious.

Ram (Dodge) should have just addressed this shit years ago one would think.

Regardless, if anyone wants to steal an RHO after the TRX order books open up, I'll give you my address .

Just talked to a locksmith buddy. To make a key you just need Stellantis credentials which cost around $200 and a compatible programmer. Less likely for low level thieves but can change anytime

There are “upgrades” like no can bus “star” connectors. Makes it a bit harder to access.

That’s consistent with the latest data out of the Denver area. Silverados are the most stolen vehicles by far right now.
