How many of you are bailing from the RHO when the TRX is released?

Are you trading in your RHO and/or buying the New TRX when its released.

IMHO, the RHO brought many new buyers into the RAM brand, like me, who purchased for reasons that may include ego but that was not the over-arching motivation as it seems to be for TRX buyers. This is my first truck purchase. I've never been a "truck guy" because up to now I've always needed more room or just couldn't afford a new vehicle. Now that I'm an empty nester who is active and still working, the RHO gets me everywhere I want to go and do everything my wife and I want to do. If the TRX was the only RAM performance truck offering, I would have purchased a F-150 EcoBoost Raptor because of the price difference, even though I can buy either for cash. When it came to RHO vs. EcoBoost Raptor, RAM was a no-brainer and based on many posts on this forum the RHO has won over many former F-150 Raptor owners. Given that background and current market conditions, I can't see a scenario where a six-figure truck outsells a similar one that is substantially less expensive. It just really depends on your situation, but I suspect there are more of "me" out there than dedicated halo truck buyers. I am very happy the TRX is back, if anything I believe it's return enhances the value of my RHO. Time will tell, but I have spoken!

The RHO is the more practical truck for 99% of the people. The exception is people who just have a ton of money to throw around. This isn't my scenario- I can afford the TRX but it's still a very large purchase for me that I'll have to plan for.

The second is the EGO buyers which I'm not either. One trip to the TRX forum will tell you all you need to know about those types. I don't think the TRX is the better truck. I'm also well aware it's not some "financial status symbol" like some people pretend. I know for a fact theres plenty of people with way more money and assets than me that drive an RHO. Hell, where I live, half of the 5 and 6 million dollar homes have a Toyota Corolla in the driveway.

I want one because the TRX was always my dream truck, except in 2021 I was not in the financial position to buy one. Now I finally am, so that's why I'm going to pull the trigger.

I'm also 36 which is probably on the "younger" side around here and for this market in general, which is probably a big reason why I'm so attracted to the TRX. It's a bit over the top and loud but so is my personality lol. I'm desperately trying to hold onto every bit of "youth" that I still can!

Plus, I live in NJ so fuck my neighbors. If I'm awake- everyone must be awake 😂. That's the law, look it up.

My wife might shoot me after I buy it anyways, so all this is probably irrelevant.

Well said! Long live the RHO and TRX!

Allocation is the biggest unknown at the moment. In no circumstance ever will I pay above MSRP, and to be quite honest if there isn’t a discount similar to RHO I wouldn’t be remotely interested either. We’re already being taken advantage of knowing “regular” 1500s can be had for $16-20k off MSRP. This truck is has significant margin built in… I am not losing that amount of resale value on an emotional purchase.

Is a rebel considered "regular" where can one of those be had for 16-20k off. I have a friend looking.

Maybe not. It all comes down to when Ram is incentivizing a specific trim. Right now big horn and Laramie are $5500 off on a factory incentive, plus all of the dealer discounts and other incentives you can qualify for. I bought my last Laramie trim at $18.5k off of sticker, and I’ve seen even better deals, just not for the exact build I was looking for at the time. The most I’ve seen is $1k off of RHO, and I really haven’t tracked Rebel very closely.

Point is, basically the lowest factory incentive you’ll find is on the most expensive truck, which is counter-intuitive. I’d love to know how a RHO margin compares to a Big Horn…

Absolutely staying put. The RHO with DP & Tune pushing mid 600’s at the wheels. Couple that with the smoothness and quiet (yes I find it a plus) operation of an I6 TT is perfection to me.

I fully support those jumping ship if they see the TRX as perfection.

I had a Rebel with the I6 as a rental today. It was pretty nice. If it was offered in the HO I may could role with that. No 0w20 oil for me. The HO and TRX 6.2 use 0w40, that is good thing. No thin oils. Red flag for me.

I only got a year on you age wise and while I can afford it, it's also still a large purchase as unfortunately I have not hit the lottery yet. I had a 2022 TRX and it was a lot of fun. It had a borla atak exhaust and my neighbor across the street complained I made their window vibrate in the morning when I started my truck. Ego wise I can care less what people think, if i wanted to flex I'd have to buy an escalade or an m series BMW to flaunt in the pick-up line at my kids school

Absolutely nothing wrong with it, I just see a lot of those X5/X7 M series in the pick-up lines along with the escalade and yukons(denalis of course) . They seem to be the "hot" suv among soccer dads and moms

My wife did just get rid of her Yukon AT4. She now has a '25 Grand Wagoneer Onyx Edition. Makes the Yukon look like a Yugo

Maybe you should consider trading down to a Pentastar engine :D
My Wife believes her Cherokee Trail Hawk V6 3.2L will give my RHO a run for it's money...Just a soon as she gets her new PTU for it :) FYI, the Safety Recall PTU's are like Rocking Horse Shit, hard to find.

Interesting, I didn't know there was a 3.2L version of the Pentastar. My daughter's Charger has the 3.6L Pentastar, and while it's not a slacker it is CERTAINLY not a muscle engine - even for a sedan.
