I think 240. It was like 120 in fluids. Plus the labor. The friction modifier was like 50 bucks alone plus 3 qts of fluid

Like others have said , strictly a maintenance / peace of mind thing. Based on others reports I decided to do this service way early. Yes, to change to fresh fluids but based on my findings (low rear diff & not torqued on fill plugs ), was worth it for me. Bought my own fluids and did the service myself with help from my cousin and his lift

The special fluid is called “added dealer profit”.

No special additives needed on RHO rear differential. It’s an e-locker, not limited slip. Though, some dealers assume it needs the friction modifier…and, why not…they’re not paying for it!

I thought that it was off because I did the math w the service dude for the fluid and it was 70. I digress tho it’s alresdybdone

My truck is at 4,998 miles. Did oil/filter change, rotated tires , inspect CVs.

Also drained and refilled front , rear , and transfer case fluids

My observations:

1) the rear diff was low. Also came out disgusting black with a hefty amount of metallic sheen in it.

2) Transfer case fluid looked ok , but the fill plug was so loose it wasn’t even torqued on.

3) Front diff looked totally fine

I’m not a scientist and a “visual” inspection of dirty fluid doesn’t mean much, but I’m glad I swapped out these fluids. Feels good knowing I have fresh fluids in there at the correct levels. In addition, was nice to torque the damn plugs properly .

2) I used Ravenol fluids for front, transfer, and rear. Blauparts has complete kits that make it convenient to purchase. Double checked the weights and they match what is recommended

If I wanted to save some $$ with ZERO compromise in quality, I’d go with Ravenol. It meets or exceeds all OEM specs (on the label…you don’t have to find any obscure references online).

If you want to spend more $$ so you can “impress” people by telling them you installed Amsoil or any other high $$ brand, go for it.

Some will argue Amsoil is far superior to any other brand. But remember, our diffs & transfer cases do not see much, if any, severe use scenarios in RHO. Once you’ve tuned your RHO to 1300TQ, then you can maybe convince me of your wisdom.

Oh…I’d definitely spend ALL the MONEY on your local stealer’s “Platinum Reserve” gold infused (for your pleasure) lube package. Only $9995, payable in four easy installments of $2995.

It’s good for two boat tows to any location in your state, but the warranty is void if either your rear bumper or tires are submerged.

FWIW, Amsoil came out less expensive than the Ravenol branded stuff through Blauparts. That was regular priced. I set up a kit through Blauparts and they were out of stock and wouldnt let me add to the cart. I do like paying $$ for a better product, but I don't like paying $$$ for bragging rights….well, if I wasn’t so cheap I would.
