Is the RHO too wide ?

Huh?

Looks = RAM hands down
Interior = RAM hands down
Performance = Seriously? RAM walks the Raptor like an old 96 F150

Chris
Raptor wins on suspension tuning & drivetrain tuning…it just plain drives better & the width is less of an issue due to better driver sight lines.

As for the RHO power advantage, the Raptor is lighter.

I’m not a Ford guy & our local Ford dealer is a joke…so, I’m not buying a Raptor anytime soon.

I know this is RHO forum, if we could set aside our biases (not saying you are biased),

for sake of discussion as a consumer...

All the items you mentioned, are ARGUABLY correct

one of the Achilles heel RHO has exhibited is -> no-crash event but aribags still deploy ($15k bill).... thats just asinine on a dune jumping truck and defeats the whole purpose of this category vehicle.

Initial quality on various items but electronics gremlins especially... RHO is the loser
The day to day items (phone connecting on drive to McFatty burger joint, but does not connect on the way to planet fitness)... These daily annoyances can raise the cortisol level compounding over months

RHO is the crazy hot chick at the moment, and 'crazy' part is not for all.

once you are invested 85K into some product, its self-preserving behavior to jump thru hoops and embrace the crazy

IMO, the suspension tuning is probably a bit better, but the drivetrain itself, no way...and I have not heard anyone say it drives better...but im open to listening

Even being lighter...still a lot slower

Only seen one dude with that occurring...if you don't put the truck into baja before beating on it... read the manual …. ;)

Ford Raptor is a worthless POS, in my humblest of humble opinion of course.

You are correct this is a RHO forum. Buy one, see if you like it, or not.

Got a chance to fully test the Raptor today - overall I get how they sold so many - they are a nice combination of function and sport truck.

At the same time - for 10-12k less - the RHO wins to me. So many of the differences are toss ups and personal choice.

Yes the RHO has had more bugs than the Raptor of late - Raptor wasn't perfect coming out either. 3800 buys you a 10 year extended warranty and if you never need it - money back. Your still 6-8k ahead of the game here price wise going Ram.

The Raptor interior isnt as luxurious - but for a truck its ok. The workspaces in it would have been great when I was a field employee actually.

Still searching for the right used deal to come along - technically open to either but we remain a house divided - i want an RHO and Mrs wants me to get a Raptor. Ultimately of course its my pick and unless someone presents an insane deal on a used Raptor - Ram it shall be.

When I bought my 2018 Raptor I was so proud and 18,000 miles later I couldn't wait to get rid of it.
It squeaked and rattled like a 1966 Rambler. That was my 5th F150 and my very last. Went to Ram after that and never looked back.

I rode in a work friend's 24 3.5 Raptor last week.

He was giving me shit about my truck being in for service (again), while I was thinking about how LOUD all the rattles, squeaks, and road noise were coming from a truck barely a year older than mine. The front passenger's door card felt and sounded like it was going to come off at any moment.

I can honestly say that the Raptor experience that I had many years ago was the worst vehicle experience ever. I was always at the dealership trying to get these figgin noises identified.
I remember telling the service advisor "I paid 73K for this truck, it shouldn't sound like this". Never got rectified and switched to a Ram Rebel.

This astounds me, because my '16 Fusion Titanium was a fantastic car. Ford has cratered in quality.
This says a lot, coming from me. In 40 years of vehicle ownership, I've owned nearly all Fords.

It's sad to say that a 2016 car with an MSRP of $34K (I didn't pay that), was quieter and felt "better made" than this 2024 $78K+ MSRP sports truck.

I had a 2014 FX4 bought brand new and it was a great truck. This particular Raptor was not a great truck whatsover to the point where as a 5 time F150 owner I switched to Ram.
Three of my F150's were solid.
