JB4 or Diablosport.. that is THE question

Hahaha. I didn’t even get to your posts when I wrote that. To be fair, you have the most helpful input when it comes to the cat6 and you seem problem free.
Fair enough mate !! 😊

Chris

I “think” the issues are connection issues or issues with the truck. There no way we have zero issues and other do with the EXACT same product.

Chris
That's not a solid statement whatsoever, we're in no position to say anything is exactly the same.

Why not... the engine doesn't care

The engine is just fine, thanks though.

And this guy??? New member with only one post?? GTFO DUDE.
What are you 12 years old or something? I had a similar issue and so I added to the conversation what worked for me in case it helps someone else. Maybe don't get butthurt every time you think someone is badmouthing Diablosport or the cat6 just because you've apparently had zero issues. You've made that abundantly clear and guess what, no one cares. It's much more helpful when people do have issues. Then report them. Then others can help by stating what worked for them or talking out potential solutions.

Yeah, this was my 1st post because I don't have time or feel the need to post nonsense. I read this forum when I can and thought I finally had something useful and potentially helpful to post, so I did. Next time I post (if I do) will be the same.

And by the way, I happen to really like the DS Cat6 and don't like driving the truck without it. Once you feel that extra power and throttle response you can't go back.

I've been really happy with the Roar Throttle Controller. Only had it on for about 500 miles or so, but it made the pedal nice and touchy.
Me too. The RP has been solid since install ~700 miles ago.

Did ya'll use the remote or app version of the RP? I assume the remote is easier than the app, but it's just another gizmo to have around....I would lean toward the app unless I'm missing something.
I really enjoyed the pedal commander function on the CAT6 (along with the boost increase) - but if I end up without the tuner going forward I'm surely interested in the RP.

I use the app and no adapter in the truck

12 is about right sometimes....Yeah I jumped the gun...I think like many of us are on multiple forums and see a one post guy/girl/bot that stirs somethings up and thats it...some forums are more susceptible than others to that occurrence .

With that, my apologies and welcome.

I use the phone app, no device in the truck.

You don’t see me blinking??? 🤣

I was a little harsh…. Sometimes it’s good to show grace…it’s so hard though….😂

Chris. Takes a real man to own up. I can respect that.

No problem. Takes a real man to own it. I can appreciate that. Carry on. I'll keep my mouth shut for another 6 months...

Hey all -- I wanted to circle back on this thread to be sure I gave a shout out to the DS team. I sent my tuner in for evaluation / refund -- the team performed a thorough check and even installed on an RHO for a week. Bryan (Master Tech as DS) has been 100% concerned their product was checked ok. Their communication has been nothing but STELLAR. On my side, I made an appt. with the dealer and uncovered what appears to be the root cause; the dealer confirmed my truck has a throttle pedal voltage issue (erratic voltage signal) with the throttle pedal "APP Sensor" which is also affecting the start / stop function. The start / stop hasn't worked in 1300 miles. Since DS tested on their end and found no issue, and I've done the same thing but found a problem, we could likely conclude the erratic voltage signal affected the DS product or even enhanced the negative aspect the faulty signal produced. The issue I had seems to land squarely with RAM, not the tuner.
The dealer had to order parts -- after the replacement, I'll test for a week, then reinstall the CAT6 (DS is sending me another). FWIW, I've learned (without tuner installed) that if you have this loss of throttle issue, you can put your foot under the pedal and pull up and hold for a few seconds -- this clears the issue and normal throttle resumes -- I've performed this twice now (while driving).

That’s excellent news and very useful info!

When holding the throttle up, is this done at idle in park or while driving? This has happened to me twice. My issue was when driving and cruise set at 80, the truck struggled to maintain 73–75. I pulled over and shut it off for a few minutes and that has cleared the issue.

Thanks

I do it while coasting, in drive --- simply lift up & hold for a few seconds and that fixes it. I'd recommend letting your dealer know you likely need a new throttle pedal APP Sensor as well. Shutting the vehile off and waiting allows the modules to enter 'sleep mode' which resets them -- the lift and hold for a few seconds is an 'on the fly' fix, no pulling over and waiting.

Yup. We know :)

DS CAT6 holds the crown hands down. But I’m not saying the JB4 is bad, it’s not and they are playing with higher HP levels using a guaranteed warranty decline of E85.

But, the potential is better if they can get it dialed in.

Chris
Any updates on my statements?
