JB4 or Diablosport.. that is THE question

You won’t get any boost or minimal in park or neutral.

We’ve done dyno break ins on motorcycles for many years by touching the rev limiter in each gear and then coasting back down to idle, changing the oil, then shipping it. Puts about 30 miles on the bike. Never had any issues.

These days you have people tuning a vehicle to 1,000 horsepower with 5 miles on it and seeing no issues, and then people who baby their vehicles and have issues. There’s no rhyme or reason to it.
What kind of bikes do you ride bro?

Currently no street bikes. Just a KTM dirt bike and a SxS. But I was a service manager for a multi euro brand for years. BMW , Ducati, Triumph, Aprilia, KTM etc…. Even did a stint for Harley Davidson.

Nice! I'm a bike nerd...love Aprilias.
Maybe I'll start a bike thread.

I like bikes too (and cars!).... but let's get back on topic, this dang RHO Cat6 tuner! I didn't do anything else with it today, I didn't even drive the truck. I had a car show with the Lotus and worked on the EGR Rolltrack for a bunch of hours afterward.... cutting holes in the new truck was slightly intimidating. I think I'm 1/3 of the way done with the install.... wowza so many parts.

Any update on the RHO?

Chris

Have my jb4 installed pulls hard ! And a little to the left slightly harder to keep my lane under full throttle . Anyhow I have 92 octane here seattle area any thoughts running map 2 on 92 ? On my first drive jb4 installed i thought I felt it pull a little timing . I run costco 92 but went straight to shell and haven’t felt anymore hiccups in the throttle since

Yes! I re-srarted the app (there was an error code) and just like magic the truck is a beast. I installed the EGR Rolltrack today (never again, what a serious PITA)... then quick drive with my son who confirmed the truck puts his ass to the seat when I give it the beans. I'm so glad everything is done. Exhaust next Saturday *the dealer is installing.... thankfully! I'm spent.
Edit... my son was watching boost pressure on the app in map 2 and said he read highest of 34 which was actually in alignment with the performance page at the time

Map 2 on 92 is fine, 91 has very minor corrections...map 3 or 4 will require 93.

I use 93 Costco here in Miami and haven’t noticed anything different. I’m also on map2 with JB4. Haven’t ran map3 yet and not sure how it will run with solely 93

I had a weekend road trip and finally got some miles on the truck -- and many 'on throttle' moments during the drive.! I manged a 112 mph top speed (says the dashboard recorder), and zipped by many noiser trucks that just couldn't keep up :) Anway, I just now hit 1000 miles arriving home....on the last leg of the ride back home, I did two launches with the CAT6 on map 2 (in fact I did the entire 7 hr trip on map 2) -- using 3700 rpm as the launch set point. The first I got some traction control flashing, but still got a 4.50, the second I got the exact same 4.50 (on the performace page) with what I felt was a better launch. Either way, it's a fast 6,300 pound truck -- I didn't try map 3 for launch yet, maybe next time. Vehicle was 2/3 full fuel with 1 passenger and in sport mode. No complaints! It was the most comfortable road trip I've had in a long while -- power, peformance, and comfort (and let's not forget level 2 autonomous driving (it's reeeeealy freaking good!) Cheers.

Today I got left on the side of the road (in the rain no less) - Sequence of events -- yesterday I got a new MF cat back exhaust and wanted to take some video. I did two runs in map2 (the truck has been in map2 constantly) and then I switched the CAT6 to map3 (for the 2nd time ever) -- then the truck literally stopped a minute later -- no throttle response whatsoever, although it's running (idle) just fine. I let it sit, switched back to map2, and then stock. I unplugged all CAT6 connections under the hood and dash (in the rain) and reconnected --- I disconnected the positive side of the battery -- no matter what I tried I got the same error messages (attached). I ended up calling Ram roadside assistance --- while they were on the way I fully removed the CAT6 system (not fun in the rain with way too many added zip ties) -- packed up all my personal things and sat waiting for the tow. When the tow arrived 20 min later, I started the truck -- and wouldn't you know it -- it revs. All warning lights on the dash also cleared. I drove the truck home with no further issue. (note my truck has just 1,100 miles on it)
So, I'm guessing this is a repeat issue now with my CAT6 -- the second time being much worse than the first loss of power but still moving (which has repeated 3x now). I'm unsure if the CAT6 has a program issue (its software is up to date), the truck does -- or both.... but it does seem like it's tied to the CAT6.

I know this going to upset everyone, but hearing things like this are precisely why I wish we didn't have to install a Cat6 / Jb4 just to get to Rams advertised stock 0-60.

Yes, I'm aware like 1 out of 100 people have hit 4.6 stock. This guy, for example, is hitting 4.5 with a Cat 6 on map 2.

FWIW, the best I've got was 4.3 in map2 -- it seems to be pretty consistant in that range. I really like the feel of the extra boost but it's not worth this kind of drama. I may go pedal commander but will wait and see what DS says.
