JB4 or Diablosport.. that is THE question

Surely this was a supercharged rousch? What's the hp on the n/a 5.0?
I don't think it was, I didn't hear any s/c whine, also the rousch s/c is 700+hp, that model will smoke our trucks

I may started a thread on this topic, im getting close to 20k, I want to do plugswithin the next 10k
On this board, you probably have the most miles on the truck so far. (y)

Chris

Installed today.... took about 45 min because I didn't want to break a dang connector! Straight forward though, as was downloading and using the app. Now the curious part.... aside from the "peddal commander" 3 -4 setting....I literally felt nothing in map 2 and 3. Granted my truck is new with like 300 miles on it so I'm not launching it... but what gives.... felt like the same truck (and I run 93).

Interesting. Not sure if anything else opens up once you hit 500 miles.

I can spin the rear tires just a hair either rolling at a low speed and punching it or if I launch it. Don’t really remember if I could do that before.

But I can absolutely feel a difference from stock to three. I babied the engine for the first 500 miles.

I watched the gauges page in the app... boost never crossed 2 psi under moderate throttle, I'm assuming the boost value shown is added boost, not total. All app gauges seem to be reading as they should which makes me feel the install isn't an issue.... no CEL during the drive. I honestly didn't play around very much, drove in auto, sport and maps 1,2,3 with peddal at 3 and 4, as well as toggled the boost by gear on... bumped 1 to 45 and 2 to 75%, the remaining left at 100%. Again, I'm not super used to the truck as it was but surely didn't find myself saying "wow!" at any time.

You may have other issues with the truck. I know some had defective hoses that would pop off under throttle. Also, the gauges in the truck will never show more than 28psi as the computer is tricked.

The gauges on the app should show true boost but I never look at it honestly. :)

I'd find it hard to believe there's an issue with the truck without a CEL present -- if you never look at the boost value then how can you say with confidence what it shows? Can you give it a try and let me know what you read under normal and moderate throttle driving? I've never looked at the truck display boost gauge -- too much fluff, but the app I would tend to believe, however I'd like to confirm what it's reading...added boost or total boost. I've also reached out to DS for their input.

I posted it before but I’ll do it again. I think it read a max of 31 or 32 psi?

I’ll run her tomorrow and report back. Part throttle, I absolutely don’t recall

Sweet thanks!

I'm sure you'll be happy with either tuner as they're both great. I didn't have success with the DS, as many others haven't either, but I know DS makes great tuners and are well known in the game. whichever you choose, just know that you won't want to go back to stock like Chris had mentioned above.... This truck definitely wakes up.
I wonder if it's possible to mix up the mass air flow sensor and manifold pressure sensor connectors I'll have to see if they're the same I remember the wire length being equal

If I remember correctly (I should know as many times as I’ve taken it off and put it back on) the connectors are different.

@prov431 on my way to mens group I did a quick record..part throttle was around 2psi…full throttle it hit 33psi

Tuning in break in period is WILD.

I thought I read somewhere on here that it was possible, but you’d think that would throw a CEL , but maybe not.

Break-in’s are over rated. Lol
We’ve done dyno break ins on motorcycles for many years by touching the rev limiter in each gear and then coasting back down to idle, changing the oil, then shipping it. Puts about 30 miles on the bike. Never had any issues.

These days you have people tuning a vehicle to 1,000 horsepower with 5 miles on it and seeing no issues, and then people who baby their vehicles and have issues. There’s no rhyme or reason to it.

Thank you Chris this is good information I'm going to check my connectors and make sure I didn't reverse anything by some wild chance and then see where I land.

I checked the connections and there's no way to mix up the mass air flow sensor and the manifold pressure sensor they are different size connectors physically. I put it back together started it and gave it some revs on map 2, the app read just under 2 and the big screen just at or below 0 PSI
