Living with the JB4

I just did a 4.40 0-60 with the CAT6 tuner in map 2 & my 6500lb truck in auto mode. I haven't even tried a run in map 3! If I was in sport mode it would've shaved a little more off it with crisper shifts. After the run I bumped the boost by gear in 1st and 2nd a bit -- had them at 45% and 65%. Love this truck and the CAT6! Daaayum!
In my opinion it's absolutely stupid that we have to buy a cat 6 and void the warranty just to get 0.1 second less than Ram advertised the 0-60 though lol.

Am I the only one this bothers?

Ram advertised this thing as being "1/10th of a second slower to 60 than a TRX" and that was total bullshit, a complete lie.

There are videos out there that show RHO 's hitting those numbers. Unless their doctoring up their screens to show that number I don't think its a lie.
Besides that if you really love this truck, and it feels fast to you who the fuck cares what numbers you get. It's how your ass feels in that seat that matters nothing else. Fuck anyone else who judges you and those numbers.
But if your a numbers guy well then......figure it out.

Idk man go to the 0-60 times thread. Basically no one get 4.6 lol. Most people get the 4.6 after they put a jb4 on. Which is exactly why I said what I did. I myself am getting almost a full second slower with a 1/4 tank of gas and crisp 60 degree weather. I can't get under 5.60

I couldn't care less, I'm not a numbers guy0 but just because I love the truck doesn't mean that Ram wasn't absolutely full of shit with their 0-60 times. Mealwhile, TRX's hit 4.0 all day.

I only buy brand new vehicles- so I didn't go for a TRX. ( When attacking Rho owners TRX guys conveniently forget they don't even make their trucks anymore lol) But I hope when/if they release it again I'll be able to purchase one.

Mine hit 4.6S Bone stock.
Lucky, no clue what's going on with mine buy my best is 5.60.

Got the same thing again just earlier today in 60 degree weather.

This is without launch control, because I'm not going to sit there and setup launch control everytime I want to floor it from a light.

Not a big mod guy personally, I'd rather just have what I want from the factory. Don't want to have to tinker and play around with anything but that's just me.

Launch control will give you better numbers as you are spooling up the turbos before take off.

For sure I totally get that. I just don't want to have to use it, I personally find it time consuming and it's pretty much useless on the street.

What rpms do you power brake it up to? 3200 or so RPMS should do the trick.

I mean, you are upsetting the natural world order as white RHO’s are the fastest. ;). You’re bringing us down man

Lmao I know!! I'll go out later tonight and try around with different brake boost RPM's and try for 3200. Usually I'm a bit lower than that.

And trust me, no one is more upset than ME that I can't get under 5.6 :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Give launch control a try. That’s how I got my 4.6. It’s not as cumbersome as you believe it to be.

maybe try brake boosting higher then 3200. try 3700. 5.6 seems slow. I've seen guys on here post 4.6 a lot. I also had a friend bring his in to the dealer. his transmission got tweaked (can't remember the reason) and he said he felt a big difference in his low end speed after that.

Thanks for all of the feedback guys. I’ll definitely install the jb4 this week. I don’t see me going higher than map 2. I wanted a bit more grunt out of it. Sold a 21 trx to get here. Thank god my 25 Escalade esv V does 4.4 0-60

It's one button. How much time does it take?

Feel for you guys that can’t get mid 4 seconds stock. I found that 3800 rpm on launch control is my sweet spot. I can get 4.4 seconds with just myself. 4.5 with the extra weight of my family in the truck. No jb4 needed, really wonder where I’d be with a tune but loss of warranty isn’t worth it to me.

It’s less than the 1.4 seconds you lost in 0-60 time by not mashing that launch button 😂😂
Lmao. I did I try brake boosting at 3,000ish to 3200ish and got down to 5.3 as my best. I'll try to fuck around with it some more. My biggest issue is finding the place to do these runs over and over 😂 So I'm getting there, haha. Still a lot harder than it should be, IMO. Shit even my Kia Stinger I was able to get the claimed 0-60 just by mashing the throttle from a stop. But, I digress.

I'm no expert- but my understanding is these modern vehicles record boost logs etc. In the event of a catastrophic failure, they can (and probably will) pull these logs and deny your warranty claim.

It's the main reason I'm personally afraid to install a jb4 or Cat 6. I understand engine failure is very rare, but if it happens to me- I don't want to drop 16k to have a new engine installed lol.
So, they

Hey Rhinos!

I’ve a jb4 that I got from 797. It’s yet to be installed. Took a backseat to awe exhaust, kn intake, catch can, ceramic coating, decked system, rsi smart cap and roach rear hd springs.

I saw a very tight install of mounting the unit to the engine cover. I picked up one from the own just to do this.

My question is - has anyone installed the jb4 and then removed it prior to going in to the dealer? It’s supposed to be undetectable. Has that been your experience?

Thank you in advance.
Well if you cant’t I’ll be in trouble! LMAO. JB4 too fun.

Yup. JB4 was reading well over 33lbs of boost. I almost wonder if the data isn't accurate. I'm only just over 5K miles in on the odometer, but about 3,500mi with the JB4 which I know isn't a lot. This pic is the only problem I've had after running the dog $#!+ out of it on map 4 with an e30 equivalent (93+E85). I noticed it when I was trying to park, because obviously it ran bad. I thought I broke it. NOPE. Just popped this sucker back on and gtg. I probably ran 1500 HARD miles on this map. I think it would have broke if it was going to. Since then I've backed off to 93 and map 2 just because going out of my way for e85 isn't always convenient.
