Living with the JB4

That makes sense I emailed them to see about a future holiday discount for the adapter. Unit works great no issues at all but I like new shit ha.

If they don't, I have them ready to rock too!

Welp, they replied back no holiday discount but free shipping haha

edit: your website says sold out

I also sent an email to learn more, and they said there isn’t any real advantage to the new module and app at this time. They also didn’t offer to change and old module for the new BT adapter.

@Nick797 the beta version that you're testing out with the new maps and "antilag" is using the first BT adapter they offered which is the mobile adapter everyone else should have? or are you using the new JB4PRO app with new BT adapter?

Anti Lag Instructions:

"You must be running version 7 firmware or newer. This feature is controlled by the Default WG Pos parameter under User Adjustment>Basic Settings. A value of 0 disables it, while a setting of 100 is the maximum effect. We suggest starting at 60-80."

What are your thoughts? What settings have you tried?

I haven't done that part yet, I had my trailer hooked up the past few days and just incase it didn't go as planned i didnt want to mess with anything. Will do that this weekend!

Buddy of mine on map2 with 93. Seemed like it didn’t run as well on map3, so didn’t launch it… but hauls balls on map2 😬

Hey Rhinos!

I’ve a jb4 that I got from 797. It’s yet to be installed. Took a backseat to awe exhaust, kn intake, catch can, ceramic coating, decked system, rsi smart cap and roach rear hd springs.

I saw a very tight install of mounting the unit to the engine cover. I picked up one from the own just to do this.

My question is - has anyone installed the jb4 and then removed it prior to going in to the dealer? It’s supposed to be undetectable. Has that been your experience?

Thank you in advance.
I was wondering for sure the exact same thing? I've owned several different Challengers from 2009-2023, and my current is a 2023. I know for certain that when an "SRT" type vehicle is taken to the dealer, the dealer 1st check is to verify if vehicle has it's stock tune. There is a code shown if a tune or ECM module has been altered, even if you put everything back to stock. I'm know there is aftermarket parts that say their product will not be detected by dealer and deny your warranty, but I'm not willing to take the chance with the large amount of $$$,$$$ invested. I really want a different tune on, and look forward to reading everyone's comments.

This doesn't set that fault code. Former dealer tech that only serviced SRT/RT vehicles, When changing the calibration in the ECU it will set that..being no one has cracked these they do not set that fault. They really only requested a scan report on a major failure fwiw.

P1400-AFTERMARKET CALIBRATION DETECTED/WARRANTY COVERAGE CONFIRMATION REQUIRED

If you don't feel like farting around with any of this aftermarket stuff, the TRX is supposedly being re-released. That will get you 4 seconds 0-60 without touching a tuner. Depends on the price, but if it's right around 100k my first phone call is going to be Mark Dodge. Love my RHO, but it runs out of steam too fast for my liking. If you've ever driven a TRX, you'd know what I mean.

Played around with the Beta and Default WG Pos values today. Seems to spool up quicker but I’m unfamiliar with turbo engine talk. Any hesitation leaving this value between 60-80 for everyday use? Any negatives?

Burger should release a newsletter/app notification when new features and firmware are available IMO.

I’d hit up terry at burger with this question. He’s super responsive.

I really wonder what is going on with the factory “transmission” settings for Sport and Street. There is a clear difference in how the two deliver power at low RPMs when driving. The torque in Sport is much faster to hit when getting onto the throttle.

Could it be this waste gate setting?

Good question. I’m sure someone may have some technical insight as to whether or not the factory modes change other settings than just the transmission. But in my friends short testing, changing the wastegate setting in the app helped both modes.

wastegate duty cycle is how much the wastegate is open/closed. 100% means the wastegate is closed and all the exhaust is flowing through the turbine. 0% means the wastegate is fully open, meaning the exhaust will take the path of least resistance (out through wastegate or the turbine).

the computer uses the wastegate duty cycle to adjust boost pressure; it has preset values for wgdc depending on the requested boost target.
It will then adjust wdgc depending the actual boost pressure. Meaning if you are getting too much boost, it will open the wastegate (towards zero) or not enough boost, it will close the wastegate(towards 100).

It seems like this is a way to increase spool up and/or boost pressure, but this will be a change the setting, take a log, then adjust the wgdc setting type situation. I wouldn't be messing with these numbers unless you're actively taking logs and checking.
