Pretty dialed in. Did 3 different variants and I have my winner. The math checks out and I like the flow path plus installation will be much easier. The transitions and diameters minimize pressure drop and turbulence whilst reducing EGT's (there will be testing to confirm). We've addressed the as many as 6 restriction points in the OE design and lessened that to 2. One at the cat and one at the transition to the mid pipe both of which have a substantially lower pressure drop compared to that of the OE design.looks like you got both of them dialed in! what next? Build a set and test fit? then go into production? Maybe shipping by the end of September?!?
I can't tell you how much I anticipated to hear that info., you are doing the lord's work!Pretty dialed in. Did 3 different variants and I have my winner. Had to order tooling for the dumb v-band at the exhaust connection as well as material to machine the flanges, also dumb because they exist nowhere except on some heavy equipment cast exhaust manifolds. So high five to Stellantis for making it a PITD, Garrett too.
I should have a prototype set built next week once everything arrives. Then it's test fit, which should go smooth considering the scanning and build process, nothing extends outside of the oem part. Test fit goes ok, then build a jig and order tube and more material. Prototype will be several bends welded together but the production pieces will be mostly 1 piece mandrel bent tubing, roughly 7 pieces into 1.
Once I have everything we build a 1st article and test fit to ensure the jig and tubing is set up right. Once that clears we are onto production.
Soooooo. I'm dependent on other companies namely CNC tube benders and probably the machine work on the turbine flange. We'll build the first set in house and then source it out with our CAD file. It's actually cheaper that way. If things go well and fast 4-6 weeks and sellable inventory in stock. If they don't..... longer lol
Though I never had the skills you have, I did some exhaust design and fab work many moons ago and miss having that setup available! Jealous!!! Looking great, and I really can’t wait to see your finished product!Fixtures almost done.View attachment 18211
That's amazing....Getting closerView attachment 17900
Oof… there’s a lot of no bueno going on with his…Any updates? Starting to see some traffic on these, looks like Dcchris311 has made a set and is looking to go into production as well.
Hang tight, changes are in the works and us CA folks may be finally free!Im kinda new to the tuning world as I usually just do intakes and exhaust to improve sound, but with this truck I feel the need to also do a tune and downpipes lol...stupid question coming next...are these downpipes Carb legal in CA? I already have the MF xMOD cat-back and will be getting an intake soon so I figured a tune and downpipes will really wake this thing up...even more.
EDIT: never mind, just read the whole thread...for sure these would be illegal in CA...damn CA
MF xMOD cat-back
How are you liking the MF xMOD cat-back? Do you have any sound clips? What mid pipe setup did you go with?Im kinda new to the tuning world as I usually just do intakes and exhaust to improve sound, but with this truck I feel the need to also do a tune and downpipes lol...stupid question coming next...are these downpipes Carb legal in CA? Truly a work of art my friend!! I applaud you taking this on as well. The only other thing I can say is...I want!
I'll have the other one done tomorrow and hopefully both installed on Friday. Then I can do sound clips and datalogging this weekend and dyno next week. Then I'll open up a pre-order. There will be 11 available in this first run, unless the demand exceeds that really fast then I'll order more product/material to meet said demand.Truly a work of art my friend!!
