RHO off-road capability…do you use it?

Got her off the pavement today with a little suspension flex... Could be the May RHO of the month... 🤣

I took my RHO to an event this past Saturday and used most of it capabilities, from full suspension compression and expansion in the whoops, to 2-3 foot jumps, "high" speed cornering in the dirt. Absolutely love this truck! It 100% held its own in a raptor dominated event.

I won't post the jump photo here, saving it for TOTM contests, although the photo is from the smaller jump at the event.

I bought RHO because my wife & I enjoy traveling to remote hiking destinations. Many of the best hiking trails are off dirt roads, deep in the desert, mountains or woods. Our previous SUV (BMW) always got us to our destinations, but it took quite a beating at times on rough, semi-maintained forest roads. Let’s face it, BMW suspensions are tuned for pavement!

But, are RHO levels of capability really necessary? And, it’s a wide beast when encountering opposing traffic on narrow, dirt passes. Some roads have little room for error & mistakes can result in a 500+’ tumble down the side of a mountain.

Yesterday, I watched a YouTuber take his new Tacoma up a rough, often sandy, mountain trail. He crossed streams, climbed steep dirt hills and seemed to have a blast. At the end, he revealed the Taco never needed its 4WD engaged. He summarized…all you need is some ground clearance & good AT tires.

I’ve seen a few enter sand dunes & RHO might be a top vehicle choice in those regions. But let’s face it…how many of us live near sand dunes? I’ve driven 45MPH in comfort on a rough dirt path that would have totaled my BMW at 1/2 that speed…but, I didn’t need to do it…just did it to “try it out”.

Have you driven your RHO into places that required its capabilities? If yes, tell us about it!
Taco half the weight of a full size truck. There is a lot of mud, etc in my area. I need every bit of it's capabilities
