Software update

My truck was delivered on June 19th - no OTA updates until 2 days ago. Unfortunately, after it updated, I hit 'continue' instead of 'see what's new' - so I have no idea if this was a Uconnect or Service update.

My truck requested an update last weekend, i scheduled it and the next day it had some cryptic message on the screen that the update was no longer available??? JFC. Hoping they get this shit figured out. My Tesla runs updates about twice a month and I've never had any issue in 5 years.

Just got a print for the new software update has anyone done it

I just took it to the dealer and they did the update there. I was getting 4 codes around cylinder issues. It did fix that so far, especially after a 75 mile drive after.

I ended up still getting the P2188 code around the rich idle.

I got the same message but it came back up the next day. I updated on the spot. Just hit start, sat in my truck with the radio on, engine off until the radio went off. Then got out and locked the truck. Next time I started the truck about 2 hours later, it said update complete. It says it takes 38 min when you start it. And during that time, you cant turn on the truck or radio. Good luck.

Still hanging out on my original software version. Did you guys get a push notification for an update, or go to some menu to check for update? I don’t see anywhere where I have any option to download.

Someone on the TRX forum said that the dealership states that Ram was pausing the upgrades to U35.26 because it was causing too many problems.

Same, I received the message on Monday when the timing couldn't have been more inconvenient. We'll see if/when it comes back before my next service visit. I normally prefer updates at the dealer as opposed to OTA, but we've seen plenty of software mistakes by dealers documented here.

Same, I received the message on Monday when the timing couldn't have been more inconvenient. We'll see if/when it comes back before my next service visit. I normally prefer updates at the dealer as opposed to OTA, but we've seen plenty of software mistakes by dealers documented here.

Mine seems to have sped up responsiveness

Just start the update, do not schedule it, turn your truck off and hang out in it until the radio goes off, then get out and lock as usual. It will update while the truck is off. Takes about 40 minutes and you cant go back in the truck or drive it. Just let it sit. Take key fob away from it as well. Good luck.

I have this question too. To my knowledge it has never done an OTA update. I have never taken it back to the dealer since the day I brought it home either. Did I somehow turn OTA updates off? Truck seems to be running fine, and I've never had a notice pop up or anything asking to update, or telling me it needs to.

I couldn’t find any way to obtain an update on mine.

I just have mine set to automatically update over wifi and have it connected to the Ram wifi service (I think it's 3 months free when you buy the truck and then ~$19 p/m)

You can’t turn off the updates unless you disconnect the telematics box. And you can’t indefinitely delay the updates either. At some point it will just happen (whether you know it or not). Plenty of guys on the TRX forum have been wanting to stop the updates, because Ram just keeps screwing things up. But no one has found a good way without removing all connectivity.

Unsure what that means but it was interesting

This was my 3rd update since I took possession of the truck in December

I went straight to Mexico after it finished and hit 178 MPH so that was nice
