What did you do to your RHO Today?

I installed the RetraxPro FRC-4000 tonneau cover on my '26 black RHO yesterday. Installation was pretty simple. The included instructions are a bit confusing, but RealTruck has a great Youtube video of the install on an F-150.

Clamping the side rails to the bed was easy enough. I had to open them to the absolute max to get them around the inner bed rail. Then tightened them down. I measured at the front and back of the bed and I was off about half an inch. Quick and easy fix with the adjustment allen wrench. Just remember to loosen that clamp first. Getting the right pitch on the side rails was simple with the standoff bolts on each clamp.

Had my daughter help me get the cannister into the bed and drop it in place. It latched into the side rails quick and easy. Luckily my daughter is a lot smaller than me. She was able to get under the cannister and connect the drain tubes.

The cover rolls open and closed effortlessly. I really like the new design as compared to the RetraxPro I had on my '21 Raptor. The handle is nicer, it seems to roll better. The handle would never pop open on my Raptor, I had to pry it up with a key most times. This one pops right open, but it is still brand new. Time will tell.

I love the clean look of the Retrax cover. These last two weeks without a bed cover have really sucked because I have been driving the baby around and I have to keep cramming his huge stroller in the back seat due to rain. Now I can throw that monster in the bed of the truck.

Great product. @RealTruck was great to deal with. Quick and easy install. Took me about an hour, but I am a bit of a perfectionist. I needed the side rails dead on front and back. 10/10 recommend.
The photo angle is a bit deceiving. It is larger than it looks. You can still see how much area is available under the cannister. I might even say that this cannister is smaller than my old Retrax.

Very nice! You’re install went a bit better than mine. My canister did not want to drop in on the passenger side despite everything seemingly being dead on with the rail alignments.

While I’m dreading the day I have to remove it it’s awesome to have that option.

I love the cover, much better than my old Retrax.
So, to be totally honest here, my daughter was on the passenger side and I was on the drivers side when we dropped the cannister in. I noticed that the passenger side wasn't latching very easily. Then I noticed a bit of a gap between the side rail and the cannister.

We switched sides, reattached the handles, lifted the cannister, and dropped it back in. That lined everything up perfectly. Both latches easily secured after sliding the cannister forward towards them. You have to be careful and lower both sides at the same time. Definitely a two person job. I did everything myself except installing the cannister and running the drain hoses (just because my daughter is smaller and could access under the cannister more easily).

Yep, I installed it myself so I’m sure that didn’t help matters.

I think I agree with you that this canister seems smaller than my last Retrax, just seems to take up less bed space.

My last Retrax also leaked a lot no matter what I did. This one nary a drop…

That was what I was wondering. My old one leaked a ton. We had a hard rain last night and my bed is totally dry. I am pretty optimistic for this one. Got the tailgate seal from RealTruck and didn't even install it. Wanted to see how much water got in first.

Drove 90 Miles each way to get a set of Off-Road Running Boards and installed them as soon as I got home. Managed to get a cramp in my neck while working under the truck and made me realize I’m no longer young. Glad I went OEM.

Installed a bedrug. Love the final look and feel but it was a pain to accommodate all the stuff from the bed utility group. Wish they had an option with precut openings, had a tough time getting everything put back in place over top the rug. Very happy with the final appearance though.

I’m a bit disappointed in the quality of the Bakflip MX4TS I just received. Broken parts from the factory. Factory left aluminum chips on the cover. No instructions for RAM trucks. This is my third Bakflip and it appears to me quality has gone downhill since RealTruck bought them.
I bought a bak revolver x4ts cover same experience. For the price paid pretty disappointed in the quality. Aluminum chips all over the cover. Sharp rail ends with no covers. Did not fit my truck even though all the part numbers said it would. I had to shim both rails on either side to get the cover to lock down. In doing so i don't feel confident that the t rails will be solid enough to use with a rack. Pretty disappointed.

I've been shouting from the rooftops for years now that anything by Bak is total garbage. People just keep snapping them up though.
Same for me. Bought my first tonneau from them for my 07 Tundra. They had to replace the first one and the second one still didn't fit quite right. They kept telling me to trim parts and try other things. They quit responding to me when I asked about their quality department and if they asked all their customers to re-engineer their items. Went to a similar truxedo tonneau on my last truck and for the RHO.

You have more patience than me. I installed the floor piece of the Bedrug months ago and never got around to trying to install the sidewalls due to all the bed accoutrements.

Awesome job!

Did you put in weather stripping to seal from dust and moisture? I would love to do something similar but I see all the dust from dirt roads that get in .

I did not, the bedrug does a pretty decent job at sealing off the bed for the most part. Weak point is the tailgate but feels like it’s a tighter fit against my bed cover.

Haha thank you! Started to get the hang of it after the first side. Definitely helps to cut away as much as you can behind the the rail brackets. The bolts are just barely long enough to grab a thread with the rug in so as much as you can cut away while still having a little underneath the bracket, the better.

Understandably disappointing for a premium product. I'm sorry that the MX4 TS you received was in such bad shape. This is not the level of quality we want to deliver to anyone.

The dedicated forum support team will gladly take a closer look at this for you. DM me or email me directly at [email protected], and we'll get into it.

Great write up! It takes a bit of time and precision to get the cover completely square for the canister to slide in. Lucky for me, Todd (you may have seen him in our videos on the website) installed mine. He's installed one before so he knew what to look for and it took him no time at all. With the extra set of hands, the canister slid right into place.

Looks right at home on your RHO! Enjoy your new cover! 😁
