Another RHO Down!

I hope they make this right for you. keep us posted on what happens.

My RHO died on me on the beltway today. I’ve been towed twice, to the side of the road. When the state police showed up the moved me again. I was drive then hit some slower traffic then the truck stalled. Restarted then died again and would not idle. Off to the dealership. I’ll post what hapened as soon as I find out!
Mine is currently in the shop. I’m ashamed and didn’t want to be a part of the negativity because I love this truck so much.

It all started with a check engine light I brought it in they cleared it said hey if it comes back, bring it back in brought it back in the next day because the check engine light came back on from there. They said there was some kind of module that was showing errors like a trailer module, which I don’t think I have. Fast-forward about a week because they had my truck from Thursday to Wednesday. I pick up the truck on the second Wednesday drive at home next morning completely dead. Geico couldn’t jump it. They didn’t have a big enough charging unit tow truck came out they got it started, but by that time, I was like just take the truck to the dealership And that was last Thursday morning and it’s now Monday so we’ll see I’ll update when I have more information.

It "seems" most of the issues come down to bad batteries. It makes all the electronics go wacky and throws the techs off.

same situation when my batteries went bad. Mine has been good to go for 3k miles after that issue now with new batteries.

Same here. Almost 3500 miles without issues. Then the batteries ruined the experience. The truck was in the shop for two days, where they replaced both batteries. Both batteries were bad.

I’m going to be checking my batteries each week through testing, these interstate batteries are terrible!

Got my RHO back today 1 week after it left me stranded. Fuel module and fuel pump. They also replaced the batteries cause they said once they go dead it’s best. Batteries were fine when I was driving on the beltway, when the truck died. The service manager said there was no electric to the fuel module, then after they replaced that there was no power to the fuel pump. The inside of my truck smells like gasoline I hope this goes away. Glad to have her back!

wow so sorry to hear this, make them make it right for you. This is an expensive truck!

I’m sorry to hear that. While 11 miles is more than most test drives, I’d request at least that many before they give it back.

Just picked up my truck from the dealer. They said there were pins in the wiring harness that were not making proper connection. I asked why didn’t they replace the wiring harness, since I had to have it towed twice. They said they fixed it. On my way home the check engine light came on. I now have another appointment on Monday. I am so freaking done with this……

that’s unbelievable. Hopefully they sort that out

Well I bought a scan tool and used it this morning. I am getting a P26EA code. From what I can find online it indicates a problem with the fuel Pump control Module "B". This is what they have been working on since the first time it broke down.........At least this time its drivable.

Today I spoke with the dealership. They ordered a wiring harness. I hope this fixes my truck! Hope to get it back Wednesday!
I now have no confidence driving this truck!
Which wire harness are they replacing?

Update....They replaced the wiring harness to the fuel pump today. They drove it for a bit then the blind spot monitoring on the mirrors stayed on. This happened to me the first time it broke down on the highway. don't know what to do with this truck at this point. Now it's at 1,600 miles:unsure:

Honestly, I admire how much some of you guys are able to deal with. I am not sure I would have the patience/maturity to keep bringing it in and letting the dealer/RAM "fix" it. I have had 3-4 issues (I logged them in the spreadsheet) and none of them are as major as yours or others and I have already been shopping around to see what else is out there. I actually almost pulled the trigger on a '25 V8 F150 Tremor (marked down almost $11g) but someone scooped it up before I could finalize anything (I could be wrong but I actually think someone in my neighborhood grabbed it before me lol). The tremor is not nearly as appealing as the RHO but, from what I have read, seems like those trucks have had a lot less random issues compared to us. I just want a fucking truck I can drive around reliably and not have to worry about it not starting one morning or any of the other host of issues we have all seen now.

There is no doubt that this is a bad-ass truck - the look, the performance, the overall potential, and if there were fewer issues I'd easily say this is the best vehicle I have ever owned but the minor issues I have had, have really ruined the experience for me. Every day I am a little uneasy and unsure if the truck will start or if something will go wrong. I have no desire to drive it out of town with my family given the concern that I may be stranded with my wife and two little kids. My family goes up to Lake Placid every Thanksgiving and I was definitely planning on bringing this beast before all the issues but the thought of having the truck possibly fail on me when we are in a spot with no cell reception, in the middle of nowhere Adirondacks/high-peaks, no dealerships nearby - I can't risk it as, unfortunately, it is too high of a likelihood to occur. So, instead, we will continue to take the wife's car which has over 60k miles on it and is infinitely more reliable than my $80k off-roading truck. I hate feeling like I screwed up choosing the RAM RHO over a Ford Raptor. I hate feeling like I have been cheated/mislead by RAM and that they really don't care about the issues on their current top-of-the-line truck (maybe they do care but it sure doesn't seem that way). There is clearly a battery issue, why are they not getting ahead of this and offering a recall? Maybe there is a reason the RHOs are offered at a lower entry price-point compared to the Raptor? Maybe you really do get what you pay for? I know other vehicles have issues but ours seem so random and widespread with no real fix, whereas with others you at least know what you are getting into and that there is at least a fix for it.

Sorry for the long rant here, this whole experience has been such a mind-fuck for me. I got the truck to be able to take it places and go on adventures and family trips and now it will only ever take me around town where, if something does happen, I won't be putting myself or my family in a shitty situation.
