Exhaust Options

Keeping the valves all depends on how much room we have with the new muff. I'm contemplating keeping them if it fits. I think they'd help with highway drone. I suppose we will see. Also I ordered that muff from AmericanTrucks, they had a guaranteed delivery date of today, now it's saying tomorrow. They blamed it on FedEx, shitt customer service, don't bother doing business. Seems install will have to wait til tomorrow. 🫠
I wouldn’t doubt for a minute that it’s FedEx that delayed the delivery. FedEx uses a lot of fly-by-night independent rent a drunks for drivers. Some of them are really good. Some of them are owned by small companies. Others are crap. I have one FedEx driver so lazy they left a rather large package sitting on the retaining wall by the neighbors property almost 80 feet from my front porch.

Alright boys, here it is. First thought, amazing...very deep, videos do no justice! Zero rasp, nice n deep through rev range, 50% louder at WOT, and mild drone 2000-2500 RPM. With all windows up maybe 20% louder at WOT. Very pleased for $330 installed. This is the Flowmaster FlowFX, XPipe muff #72469.

Super cool you let the welding school for the blind take care of that. You've got a big heart. ;)

Sounds pretty good to me. Thanks for trying and posting.
Yeah, not the best looking welds...but hey, it is what it is. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The Borla Rep I've been emailing stated the RHO Offering from them is being pushed to mid-August.

He didn't say it, but from the tone of his email, I think they are having the same "It sounds terrible, so we're still tweaking it!" issue as every other aftermarket exhaust manufacturer.

To me personally, none of the RHO aftermarket exhaust setups sound good enough for me to drain a portion of my cash reserves for. MF still sounds better than the others, but again, it's not enough to justify the cost.

I know no exhaust for an RHO will ever have the burble of a V-Motor.

However, if they could demonstrate an increase in horsepower, that'd be a game-changer, and I'd be more likely to invest some money.
Right now, all they have going for them is, "It doesn't drone, but pretty much sounds just like the stock RHO exhaust."

IMO: All of them are one giant metal bucket of "MEH-BORING!"

This doesn't make sense to me because I've heard some exhaust systems for Inline-6 BMWs that sound amazing, from various Mod Channels on YT.
The AWE sounds stock. Lolol

Not in the slightest. Certainly has a much deeper tone. Just feel all of these exhaust company videos don’t do any of their products justice, they sound different in person.

This might be the first truck I don’t put an exhaust on. Nothing I’ve heard has sounded all that good, so I think I’d rather just keep it quiet.

No offense bro, but before you can't really make a decision, you need a truck first. 🤣

lol well tell Ram to hurry up and deliver it!

No but I’m already looking at parts I want to get so I’ve been watching exhaust videos and none have really stood out to me. Everything I’ve heard has been meh to ok, just nothing I’d want to drop money on.

Waiting on mine too, but it could be the fact that it is an inline 6 and has a unique sound.
I'm looking for the deepest tone, if possible. So still waiting for the truck allows me to wait and see what else comes our way. Borla and Corsa still need to release theirs.

I get it, I had a ton of stuff planned and bought a few things before I ever got the truck.

This mod is among the deepest I've heard.
I have a music studio and listen to these clips on speakers with subs...very accurate. This sounds very good in person.

I have done the samething playing it through actual speakers.

I honestly think this exhaust sounds on par with kits 4x the cost. Personally idk if I’m going to do an exhaust or not, but if I do I would probably do something like Mikey did. This just isn’t a great sounding motor, and the sound difference between a universal muffler and a $2k catback just doesn’t seem that drastic.

So my opinion is save the money you’d spend on a catback and put it towards wheels, tires, lights, suspension etc. Maybe corsa or borla will work some voodoo magic and make the hurricane sound good but until they do, spending $2k on an exhaust kit just seems like a waste to me.

Yeah, didn't make sense to me at this point to replace a full 3" system, with another 3" system, when you can just change the muffler and achieve pretty much the same thing. I will rock it for a while until something that sounds drastically different comes along.
