Alright boys, here it is. First thought, amazing...very deep, videos do no justice! Zero rasp, nice n deep through rev range, 50% louder at WOT, and mild drone 2000-2500 RPM. With all windows up maybe 20% louder at WOT. Very pleased for $330 installed. This is the Flowmaster FlowFX, XPipe muff #72469.

Hey Mikey, I likes it!!!

Honestly, that’s as good or better than anything I’ve heard to this point. I’m really glad you had them pull the valves off while they were at it.

Now that I’m over 5k mi, I’ve either gotten used to my stock exhaust or it’s gotten louder. Either way, I have to say that I like it. I’m not sure what all of the fuss is about…. But if I were changing exhaust, I’m definitely going this route over a full system for $2k

This just prompted me to go clamp my exhaust valves open and take a quick spin.

Maybe I’m crazy, but I heard less hesitation between my throttle and when the exhaust note fired up. I also hear a noticeable amount more turbo whine.

I’m not sure how I feel about leaving a clamp on the valves, tho.

I worried about the valves getting stuck closed somehow...that's why I took the clamps off. But yes, for the money, this was the winner. Also the Flowmaster fit perfect, the frame rail is very close and the MF I think would have touched.

Not in the slightest. Certainly has a much deeper tone. Just feel all of these exhaust company videos don’t do any of their products justice, they sound different in person.

I feel that way about stock. The cold start on stock has a nice tone to it and the volume level is at like 95 decibels (loud not using a machine). Then when youre driving and give it gas, the tone is nice. I want to hear Borla and Corsa but I cant see myself spending $2k for a touch more deepness. Its an inline 6 and will always sound like a sports car/BMW

Yeah, I want to hear Borla and Corsa as well. If they sound better, I’ll sell the AWE. I know a guy was posting videos on FB for one of them about 2 months ago, so they must be close by now..

Finally got to listen to this with headphones and thoroughly considering doing the same thing. Sounds super deep at idle compared to stock. Do you have any sound clips of driving?

Unfortunately I do not, currently at dealership getting oil changed. The drive over here though sounded amazing...very deep in the cab. Mild drone around 2k but I had my music off so I could hear the exhaust. With music on you don't hear drone. Very pleased.

Yeah, didn't make sense to me at this point to replace a full 3" system, with another 3" system, when you can just change the muffler and achieve pretty much the same thing. I will rock it for a while until something that sounds drastically different comes along.

Mikey do you still have the exhaust valves you had removed? I’m getting tired of the exhaust rattle in my truck at idle so I want to clamp my valves open. I crawled under the truck and noticed I can turn the valve either direction. Can you please tell me if I need to turn it, fully clockwise or counterclockwise to have them all the way open? As the secondary question is there a position that is one way or the other but not quite full turn against the stop that has the butterfly in line perfectly with the exhaust to create the least restriction?

Shit, I don't have them anymore...if you're looking at them from this direction, I believe it's clockwise.

Same, I've been talking about that for a few weeks...I believe it's MF collab. It's gonna have to sound drastically different from this mod for me to spend the money.
