Exhaust Options

I know these trucks are expensive so when we're talking aftermarket parts, $2k doesn't sound like a lot. But for me I can think of a lot of other ways to spend $2k, than on an exhaust that just makes me go "meh, it sounds ok". Especially when I'm used to cars/ trucks that sound good with way cheaper exhaust options. Even though my RHO is better than my 5.7 Rebel in pretty much every way, a $200 MBRP muffler and $150 resonator deletes had it sounding great. So unless Borla comes out here and hits a home run with their exhaust, I think I'm going to keep $2k in my pocket and just learn to like the stock exhaust. :ROFLMAO:
 
It’s always interesting to see different perspectives on this. A cars exhaust tone is such a subjective thing. For example, I wasn’t initially impressed with the AWE system at all. Then I watched the below video and now I’m loving its sound! Deep and throaty. What’s cool about the Xmod for the Magnaflow is how much you can change the sound. I listened to all its variations and the extreme delete option (or something like that) puts out a kick a$$ sound relative to stock…which I don’t like at all. The louder and more throaty the better. However, that may not be to other people’s liking. The key to getting that full blown BMW I6 sound will be the downpipes with either high flow cats or no cats at all.

Just landed in Michigan and I’m gone for a week. Next weekend I’m going on a towing trip. I’ll have the drive by and towing. Fixing my mistake and giving some more information.
 
I think all the aftermarket exhaust companies are going the wrong way. I think Ram went the wrong way on the RHO. Stop trying to make it sound like a V8 let it be an in-line six embrace the in-line six’s superiority and characteristics. Let it be quiet. Listen to boosted motorsports hurricane motor laying down 900 at the wheels and sounding like a jet engine. Yes I know completely different turbo But look at the limited. It puts down the same horsepower much quieter. If you’re not impressed when something quietly leaves in a hurry then I don’t know what to tell you. If it’s that important to have it sound like a V8 then you bought the wrong truck.

Kind of like I said above. Different strokes for different folks. I actually agree 100% on the V8 comparison. I literally commented on another post in a different forum last night about this very issue. Since when did the V8 become the standard for which all other truck exhausts are measured? However, that doesn't mean it has to be quiet either. Once again, this comes down to preference. Like I said above, I really like the AWE and the aggressive Magnaflow option. I love a BMW M3 with downpipes and Borla/Akropavic/AWE exhaust systems. It's literally one of my favorite sound any car puts out. Listening to an F1 car go by makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Just because you don't want quiet, doesn't mean you want a V8. I just know what this platform is capable of because of my experience with BMW and that's truly the direction I want to go. If you've ever stood next to a BMW M3 with downpipes and exhaust you know exactly what I mean.

I think I6s sound amazing....and I dont care that it comes from a truck. Thats what boggles peoples minds more than anything is when their 6.2l gets STOMPED by....what the hell was that sound coming from that truck??

To each their own for sure! It's definitely no V8. If I'd wanted that sound I'd have gone with the TRX....I happen to enjoy the TTI6 sound....it's just a bit too quiet in stock form on this truck. I bought a "sport" truck and part of what I was interested is how it sounds under throttle. Not knocking on anyone that prefers the stock exhaust note and how quiet it is by any means....I just like to hear my vehicles.
 
Not gonna lie, kinda bummed. I thought we were getting a whole new Mopar system in collaboration with MF. Instead, we get laser etched logos on two systems that have been on the market for months...AND yet another missed opportunity by Ram.🤦🏻‍♂️🙄
At least poll the audience to see which system we all like best to put logos on. 🤣

This video pretty much sealed it for me. Great sound for sure. I had the AWE in my Rebel 5.7 and loved it. No drone and volume cranked when at full throttle. Everything I have heard all sound damn near the same, everything is basically straight piped, except the MF SpeQ which is muffled or the trail rated MRT.
