Exhaust With High Flow PSP Downpipes

What type of shop ? I remember asking exhaust shops about installing a downpipe in my bmw and they acted gay about it and told me they weren't allowed to modify the factory emissions systems. Even after I explained to them it was a GESI catted legally compliant downpipe. And I had another shop tell me they were scared of triggered a code and disabling the car.

Ah nice. I remember that shop. Always have a bunch of lifted Jeeps everywhere. ( i used to live in Vegas btw )

I need to run by my shop that installed the trx pulley and see what he thinks about the downpipe install. I figured around 500, but it maybe around 7.

500 is really cheap. That would mean your shop only making like $100 an hour. Basically hookup prices

It could be more after he takes a look. I can't remember but want to say he just charged a couple hundred to install the predator pulley and sb intake on the trx. He did say he got fleeced on the intake. He figured a hellcat intake was a tube and filter. Not the monster sb intake that goes on the first trx run.

On many vehicles the downpipe(s) are just a matter of removing bolts, and swapping them out. I ended up doing my own on my M240 in my garage.
But the RHO is much more involved. Maybe show him the install instructions so he can get a better idea

Yeah he wanted to take a look at it see what all was involved. I saw the thread where psp goes over what has to come out in order to install. They do a ton of work on mustangs, corvette's, hellcats and ect. I could run it up Saturday and get a estimate. I will post up what it is.

I know this is not going to be a popular idea but I think a better cat back system would be to Y pipe the down pipes into a single 3.5” or 4” exhaust then spit it at the rear axle to keep the dual exhaust tips.

Mostly better sound but possibly better flow.
I said it wouldn’t be popular, because everyone is stuck on dual exhaust just like they are stuck on V8’s

Easier to modify sound with addition of single resonator or muffler too.

I understand your thought process because some of the I6 BMWs sounds amazing. Only trying is I’m sure a company won’t go through the hassle of R&D to make the cat back. I’m sure it would have to be a custom set up and I can’t spend more money and time tinkering hoping to find a good set up haha. My current set up is perfect for cold starts and daily driving, only aspect I’m missing volume and agressive sound when Reving. I can live with that compromise. If any of you guys live in the east coast and have downpipes I would send my truck to FMU so they can build a no compromise exhaust. I’ll ship my truck over there if someone wants to start a go fund me

I wouldn’t care about the looks of having a single exit if it meant having a bad ass exhaust that checks all the boxes for me

A single 4” flows less than dual 3”..

4” is considerably louder and going to be a nightmare to get rid of drone without killing flow.

You’ll have to get into baffled or chamber design mufflers.

So less cross sectional area and more restrictive mufflers

Well it couldn’t have been that bad of an idea if you tried it.

People have been adding a Z-Pipe to their S58 BMWs, resulting in a similar sound to a GT-R.

Not sure if it's been tried with the RHO.

Interesting, expensive as all get out. 10 times what I would’ve guessed they cost. Don’t have any familiarity with stock BMW engine sound but this guy’s description gave me the feeling it just may have potential. He went from completely unimpressed to very impressed with the cars sound. Little bit of a long video but worth watching. Especially around the 15 minute mark and on.
