Fitcamx Dash Cam

Actually had time to install. Not bad at all since it was mine 4th fitcam took about 15 minutes. Our mirror housing a little nice but it will do. Can't tell it's even there with from 70% front tint. Front and rear.

And also this did come from China. Even my tracker when I look over scans it went through 2 cities there.

Also if someone in a rush I paid $9.99 express ship and got here from China in 2 business days.

Also forgot to mention but if never done fitcam or installed on previous rams where they provide many models this one does include one extra wiring harness. I'm assuming it's because all 2025 models have same housing but some different plug-in. I grabbed bigger one right away because looked exactly like the one I unplugged from rear view mirror. There's more wiring inside but you only need that one bigger plug.

Hope that helps for other who never had fitcam.

Does that run when the truck is shut off to record someone trying to break in, hit your truck etc?

No. I did not hard wire this one. But yes if you do it does have shock sensor to record if someone hit your truck but not motion. My previous ram truck took maybe 40-45 minutes to install camera and hardwire it.

Had FitcamX installed and hardwired. Very pleased with the clean look and park mode. I’m would recommend. This is my first dash cam and I’m no expert but seems to do its job, looks OEM and the 4K is excellent. The OEM look was my priority.

My wife n I are looking for one company for ease of use, I’ll see if they have MX-5s too :)

This is the exact model I purchased (Amazon link):
👉 FitcamX 4K Dash Cam for 2025 RAM 1500 (HD2-D4120)
Compatible with Tradesman, HFE, Big Horn, and Lone Star trims.

🔧 Install Experience:
This was one of the easiest dash cam installs I’ve done. The FitcamX replaces the OEM camera cover behind the rearview mirror and looks factory. It powers on with the vehicle and shuts off cleanly — no extra buttons or exposed wires.

The hardest part was identifying the correct 3-prong connector behind the mirror. Most install videos point to the right-side harness, but ours in the RHO is slightly different. I’ve included:
  • 📷 Photos of the unit pre-install
  • 📍 Close-up of the correct plug
  • 🔩 Fully installed, cover-on view
📹 Footage Quality:
I compiled a 45-second sample video showing:
  • Morning footage at 6AM (low light)
  • Afternoon trip home during the day 🌞
I had to put it on YouTube due to its size, even if it's only 45 seconds.
It records in Ultra HD 2160P, and I did zero post-production — no color tweaks or filters. Night clarity and daytime sharpness are both impressive.

I’m installing one on my wife’s GW3 next week too.
Yes, I’ve been very happy with the FITCAMX. I did have professionally installed-I hammer nails crooked.
Clean
Hardwired
Front/Rear
Note, I use park mode in both the RHO and GW3 24/7 and have not had any battery issues at all previously either-2 months, 3wks now with Cams. I do keep our keys in a faraday box when not in use too.

That is super helpful, thank you for putting all this together for us!

I had my Fitcamx installed by my IGLA installer. Unfortunately, it is recording every minute 24/7. I bought the fuse kit so that I could have the additional parking video collection. Theoretically the camera should shut off when the truck is off. If something bumps into the truck then it should turn on and record a video clip. I checked the fuses the installer used (Internal fuse box fuses F24 ignition only on and F65 constant on) and they seem to be right. I removed F24 and the camera would shut off and only turn on when I tapped the camera (as suggested by the OEM). When I plugged F24 back in the camera won't turn off.
If anyone has used the fuse power option what fuses did you use? Thanks.

If the power is connected through the fuse box, it has a parking mode, but the parking mode is activated by a gravity sensor. When the car is vibrated by an impact, it will record a 1-minute video. See the attached for the fuse option of installation.
