Everything you said is the exact opposite of what was posted above (from Foutz Motorsports). As I mentioned earlier, I'm not an expert on these matters, so I'm not going to argue it one way or another. That's why I suggested going to the TRX forum - there are real world examples of CV boot and axle replacements due to using perches. That's all I know, lol
Definitely not trying to argue, my explanation may not be perfect, basically Foutz style collars or springs do the same thing, spacers, on top of or bellow the strut are no good. they extend the length of the strut overextending drive train components.

I spent a considerable amount of time reading through the TRX forums before I pulled the trigger on a level kit. My conclusion was the the CV joint / boot failures were more a result of the total lift rather than the particular type. That was the reason I went with the 1.5" spring perch to level my truck. I think the Eibach 1.6" spring is equal to the 1.5" spring perch at that amount of lift. The failures I read about were consistently occurring with 2"s or more of lift which changed the CV angles enough to cause failures. The guys using the bigger lifts were still seeing failures under hard use even with a diff drop kit.

That's 100% fact.

Yep saw the same information across multiple forums too, great feedback.

I can now 100% confirm that this specific wheel/tire setup WILL RUB regardless of using a heat gun on plastic. I will need to remove the plastic to expose the metal underneath and trim about 1/4” off, then it will be good to go.

Foutz collars 1.5” front only

20x10 -18 offset wheel
Nitto Ridge Grappler 37x12.50x20

Rubs ONLY on the rear sides of the tire (closer side toward rear of vehicle) right where the bottom most bolt is located. Only hits it on a hard turn left or right on each side, otherwise it hits nothing else.

Not a big deal. It looks badass. 🤙🏼

@frogjbm Gonna be on them eibachs before you know it! Anyways, I took a picture of a cut on a pro kit. I wouldn’t cut the part where you can see the metal and would just cut plastic like you mentioned. Hope this helps.

Looks killer I’m still deciding. Why 20x10 and not 9? Would -12mm be better for not rubbing?

My man, thanks. These are the wheels that came with my Limited and just switched them over. Yea -12 mm I think would eliminate the rub I’d imagine. But…it will be a minimal fix for mine, just a simple small trim of the metal ends and I’m good to go. It’s beefy as shit!

Oh nice I see what you did there, smart! Remind me your wheel and tire stats again?

Haven’t got my truck yet, but hopefully next week. I have the pro kit, 20x10 -18 Vossens, and 37x12.50 waiting though! That picture is from the white rho at my local lifted trucks

I don’t see anybody recognizing the need to have all the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems recalibrated. When doing lifts or leveling kits. These systems will no longer be correctly monitoring surroundings. This may lead to dangerous or poor performance of hands free driving and warning systems. Calibration of all sensors is costly as much as $1000+ additional cost, but necessary.

I leveled my truck with the Eibach 1.6” springs the other day, and I was using hands free without any issues last night.. no warnings, etc .. worked the same way it always has

I just installed the Foutz 2". Looks good and rides the same.

Wanted to share here , I have foutz 2 " front 3/4 rear and I love the change in height now after playing on the beach and just doing some donuts I found a torn cv didn't stop me from going to the dunes and having a blast , got in 3 hill climb launches lands great handles great. Monday we will see what ram things about my cv boot repair.

My guess is they’ll look at your lift and void your warranty on suspension. If it was me, I wouldn’t risk trying to make a warranty claim on this. It’s a known issue.

Are you suggesting I don't show ram , I would like it fixed by ram instead of a random shop. The aftermarket warranty I was pushed into covers up to 6" lift so I look forward to seeing this play out but probably cheaper than my 500 deductible to just pay

I’d be curious to see what the language says in your paperwork regarding coverage on lifts. Does the lift need to be made and installed by a Mopar outfit?

While searching for that answer I see that my deductible is only 100 it is through assurant and is premium coverage. I honestly only got it from negotiating as I bought someone's backed out order and did pull off a 10k discount the process was a nightmare.

I think it’s a great point and as @itsmekylep pointed out, the guys with the transmission issues all have one thing in common, the lifting of their trucks.

Typically the aftermarket extended warranties don’t kick in until after your factory is up. I had a CV boot replaced with less that 200 miles on my truck. It’s an issue and I’d be surprised if they pinned it on you, although it’s within their right to do so. Just an easy out because of the modification. Just find a cool dealership.
