Turbo/wastegate actuator rattle!

Yea the tolerances are definitely too big. I’m sure they factor in some expansion room because you’d rather them move freely than bind. But it’s obviously not right to have as much noise as some of them make.

My other idea was shimming the rod with some very small shims, but that may still not do it
Im going to reach out to the company that makes them for my 4 cylinder and see if they would have interest in doing the same for Ram. If they can make money from that, they absolutely will kill it for the Ram platform.

I have a 2026 with 2600 miles on it. I noticed the other day when our remote started it and walked up to it, it sounded like a rattle coming from the rear. It almost sounds like a loose exhaust piece or something. The sound isn’t coming from upfront, it’s more in the back. It’s a rattle and it will come and go. Is this the same issue???

Different but we all have that one...its the butterfly in the exhaust that rattles....you will know the rattle coming from the front as it sounds like bad detonation....think a bunch of rocks in a tin can being shaken violently lol

There’s valves in the rear that can rattle. Easy test is to put your hand on them (with a rag or glove) and have someone else cycle the accelerator pedal in varying positions. If you still hear it, it’s most likely the front waste gate arms

You can pin those exhaust valves open but you will still be left with the turbo rattle

You use a flat piece of metal and two band clamps per valve. Search oem exhaust flaps and I did a brief write up with pics here
