What happened?

Nothing 'happened' - I didn't like it and additionally valued the flexibility of the stock tube more. Sometimes you try something and don't go with it, there's nothing more to it.

I already explained it --I didn't like it and it has no flexibility as compared to the OEM tube. There was nothing on the PRO side of this specific application that made me want to keep it installed. Your preferences my vary.

What were the options you ordered when ordering? Did you change the clamps or add anything. First turbo vehicle / truck so Idk what options to really get for the setup.

I have not ordered this, but I can tell you the following:
1.) worm gear clamps - these are fine for the intake side. this never sees boost pressure, so unless you want the nicer-looking stronger t-bolt clamps they are unnecessary
2.) filter - up to you
3.) velocity stack - no, this is for track use only and completely removes the filter
4.) water/meth bung - no
5.) pre-filter - not necessary unless you're doing dusty off-roading

Just sharing my experience and Im sure most of you have not had firsthand experience with this company.

You either love intakes or hate them. That is how it is...and based on their sales, most people love them.

Im just sharing for people who actually want to hear an opinion from an actual customer.

I can find out why the smaller filter but I’m not sure if you will just be wasting my time.

Respectfully, I think those numbers are a load of garbage. I’d need to see independent dyno runs to believe anywhere near 30 HP.

Thats fair and I would really like to see that happening. I wonder if that has ever been done with any other application…and if so and it was discovered that these numbers are bs how are they still in business and advertising these gains and managing to sell thousands of these intakes?

Yeah they are probably inflated gains. I'd like to see a bone stock rho on the dyno and then the K&N on the dyno. Both in the same controlled environment.

K&N products are crap. Bottom of the barrel. They do not filter very well at all. If you have one take a clean paper towel and wipe your throttle butterfly. You will find oil and dirt. What they are is a great marketing company. That is all. Plenty of keyboard warriors making claims of greatness based on nothing but K&N’s own false claims.
