Digital Key Activation

Hi everyone! I just received the below update:

FANTASTIC NEWS! We are finally moving forward with the Digital Key launch! As we've been saying since October, this is a limited, rolling launch, to ensure everything goes as smoothly as possible.

The current launch is for vehicles built in 2024, which means that there could be folks on this forum who receive the update this week. The initial launches for any type of over-the-air update are always focused in the Metro Detroit area. For those whose VINs we have been collecting who are 2025 builds, we are still waiting to hear when the 2025s will be launched.

As a reminder, you do have to have the feature listed on your SALES CODE (corrected 2/13/26 from incorrect statement of window sticker) to be eligible for it. We did have a few people reach out early on who did NOT have it, so we just wanted to make sure to address that again.

This update enables Ram Digital Key on your iPhone® or a compatible Android™ device which allows you to unlock and start your vehicle in place of your key fob. Please visit the Mopar YouTube channel for more information on how to set up and use Ram Digital Key.

As we hear more information on additional launch timings, including when to expect 2025 builds to be included, we will share it.

How do I make sure I get this activated on my RHO. I know own a second one because the first had so many issues (sold) and now my 2nd 2025 RHO still does not have it functional. There are also issues with the performance pages and HP readouts not matching what is on the dash and what is shown on the center console Performance pages readouts.

Is there a secondary list to be added to; or once you get done with the test group it will be activated for all eligible. Seems like an awful long time for a feature that should have been ready at launch.

Hello! If desired, you can send your VIN our way (PM please!) to add to our list for reference, though again, the update is rolling out to certain model years first.

So frustrating. Seems like we're never going to get it. It's been 13 months since I got my truck, and 6 months since they asked for our VINs to activate this feature.

Guess you need to be a YouTube influencer to get it?

Apparently several months ago the bricked a TON of EV Jeep Wranglers with an OTA update... So they are paranoid!

A faulty October 2025 Over-the-Air (OTA) update from Stellantis severely impacted approximately 25,000 Jeep Wrangler 4xe (plug-in hybrid) vehicles, causing them to stall or become "bricked" and undrivable. The software error caused communication failures between the telematics module and hybrid system, requiring some owners to tow their vehicles.

Do you pay for the ram connect services by any chance ? My trial ended a long time ago and I wonder if that has any impact.

I also wonder if feature needed an over the air update requiring wifi or was it just an app update on phones.

My RAM App self-updated when I opened it today and the Digital Key tile appeared. I've paired my phone to my truck and it functions as expected.

My app and truck updated as well. I get to the point in the pairing process where you're asked to place the phone on the card reader in the truck and nothing happens. After a little while it says pairing failed. I tried removing my phone cover as well. Using an iPhone 16 pro max. Am I missing something?

Easy for you to say be patient, you dont even have your truck yet! . You have no choice but to be patient (waiting was the hardest part)! JK. What you’re saying makes sense, although you are making a huge assumption they know what they are doing. Not sure they do.
