Digital Key Activation

I received the OTA update a week+ ago. However the RAM app still doesn't show the tile. Do I need to take other steps to get the RAM app to add the tile ?

I think mine showed up on its own but if you still have not seen it may want to try deleting and re-insalling the app.

Here is my experience

I just waited for the right OTA

Then everything got right on its own

I have no idea what the right OTA is

But

Right after I got a couple, it all worked

Visited the dealer to go through the update flowchart that Briana provided. Dealer confirmed all at the latest version, they discussed with Uconnect, stated that a list of vehicles need further updates to become "equipped" and about 600 have been done to date and my truck was on the list. Reached back out to Briana for confirmation and to see if she has an ETA for updates.

Ugh, went the to dealer for my appointment to get my rf module replaced and after my digital key didn’t work, they did tell me there was a chance I would have to re-pair it. No big deal I thought and left and when I got home I deleted the paired key but now the damn trucks digital key tile is stuck on this screen. Been over 2 hours I said yes in the app and the app says the key is deleted…

I unplugged the trucks battery for an hour to see if a full truck reboot would fix it but nope as of now I can’t do shit with the digital key tile due to it being hung on this damn screen.

That seems about right…sigh. Mine won’t even go past pairing stage - get the unknown error message every time. I’m about to sell her any day now - and only because of the crap customer service and zero movement on this issue.

I haven’t even tried and just read through 4 pages of comments. I haven’t had the app on my phone for months.

Going to reinstall it and try it after work.

Been waiting on this update since I took ownership of my truck. I am an early owner too and it kills me seeing everyone else get the update first. Also was supposedly put on the @RamCares 'special' list that they were going to include me into first wave of roll outs... guess what didn't happen.

After seeing all the OTA updates happen... I reached out to Connected Services thinking they could help. They pointed me to the U-Connect team who had no resolution available and said it was a Connected Services issue LOL. I then asked to be connected to Ram Customer Care who had no specific information available and said it's both a Connected Service and U-Connect issue.

They escalated this to a case manager but now I am just waiting for an update.

Talk about a shit show.

well a new rep for uconnect was able to do something to get the screen to go away. not sure what they did. but either way i was able to re-pair the phone and digital key shows paired again. passive unlock works, i can walk up to it lights turn on touch handles it unlocks etc. but it will not let me start it. says no key detected every time...

tried deleting keys multiple times and re-pairing the phone. rebooting phone etc.

no idea what the issue is. i thought you should still be able to put the phone to the pad and it would allow you to start it but that also doesnt work. its almost digital key doesnt have authority to run/drive?

I do not. Took delivery of my truck in December 2024. Yes, nearly 2 years ago.

well a new rep for uconnect was able to do something to get the screen to go away. not sure what they did. but either way i was able to re-pair the phone and digital key shows paired again. passive unlock works, i can walk up to it lights turn on touch handles it unlocks etc. but it will not let me start it. says no key detected every time...

You don't have to put the phone on the pad. Just leave it in your pocket. Should start.

I know this, it was working as it should before they replaced the rf module.
You are also supposed to put the phone to the handle to unlock the vehicle if proximity isn’t working and hold to the nfc pad. I stated that as it was a troubleshooting step

My digital key had been perfect up until about a week ago. Now most the time the buttons on Apple wallet are grayed out and cant use any of the functions. I've had luck double pressing the power button for the NFC function and then holding the top of the phone to the door and then the charging pad will get me going, but I have to do the NFC thing twice. No matter what I try just doesn't seem to be working right. Back to keyfob it is.

Bought in June 2025, and sent VIN to Ram Cares for the first batch of rollouts in October 2025. I also emailed a rep in June, who said he was going to follow up on my VIN.

Same. Contacted RamCares here, on X, and called Ram Connect and nobody can give me a time frame.

The Stellantis execs have gone dark and they have stopped offering any help or replying to emails. I have been working with a very nice and responsive girl from Ram connect, but we haven’t gotten anywhere except the software engineers telling her and me that my truck is not up to date and to bring it back to the dealer.

I’ve been to 2 different dealers after having a module replaced and both have confirmed that my truck is on the latest software. Engineering is telling her I need TSB 08-340-25 and I pointed out to her that, that TSB is for trucks built on or before Oct. 6 and that my truck has a later build date.

I feel like I am a glutton for punishment, but it’s more my curiosity on how to figure this out and get it to work for myself and others, but at this point I give up. I won’t make any more dealership visits for anything unless it’s absolutely necessary.
