Digital Key Activation

Yes...I have everything except wifi...I have the plan they offered when I purchased my truck... I paid for the full year,I think it was cheaper.
Love to find that one somewhere. Thank you.

@SeaDog0720 and @highstar - I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. The truck pairing process took a few minutes, with my phone on the card reader, while the Samsung Wallet linking process completed.

I don't have any experience trying to pair an iPhone. Just grasping at straws here... do you need to 'allow' a permission for a wallet-type feature on your phones before trying to pair?
that's a good question. will look into it thanks

I tried both driver and passenger sides of the wireless chargers and still get an error during pairing. Hopefully someone will find a fix or an update will come along. On iPhone 17 pro max.

The drivers side charger has the card reader symbol on it. I tried both as well. Neither read my phone in my truck. The charger works, but pairing the key does not. Ram Cares any guidance?

Yep! Tried about 87 million times with my iPhone 17 with no luck. Just says connecting . Tried different sequencing. Nada. Once with my phone upside down it said pairing but didn’t complete the process. Ram cares help!

I thought there was a less expensive version that did not include their WiFi. Kinda silly to pay for WiFi when most phones allow for it. I would be more inclined to pay for a lesser cost function that just included remote start with the phone.
I brielfly had the remote start only plan on my 2026 RHO L1. It was $9 or $9.99/month. I had trouble with my connected services/self-driving feature. That was when it was discovred regarding the plan could be a culprit. I was told that plan is for Canadian trucks. Nevertheless, They "corrected" it now i have to pay $18/month. Not going to do that. Ill just install the 3rd party DroneMobile module for more reliable remote start from phone. Hopefully, that does not brick this electrically finicky truck.

Easy for you to say be patient, you dont even have your truck yet! 😂. You have no choice but to be patient (waiting was the hardest part)! JK. What you’re saying makes sense, although you are making a huge assumption they know what they are doing. Not sure they do. 😳
I bought a first year Gen 3 Raptor (the one I am so excited to get rid of when this RHO arrives). I was promised Blue Cruise self-driving. We waited and waited, then Ford sent us all checks for ~$800 when finally acknowledging that the feature can't work in a Raptor.

So I have been there. I would also argue that Blue Cruise self-driving is a more important feature than digital key.

All that said, I acknowledge that the situations sucks. I am just hoping it doesn't get worse with a rushed fix. But what do I know? I only do this sort of stuff for a living (pushing features out over telecom networks).

Kudos to Ford for admitting a mistake and making it right.

@RamCares are you listening?

Time for Ram to man up, admit they dropped the ball and compensate their customers.

Today my phone randomly asked me if I want to put my digital key in my Apple Wallet. Strange given my app hasn’t updated to show digital key feature.

I had the same thing happen about a month ago….even though my app or truck are both not yet “ready” for the update.

Figured it out! The NFC antenna is in the upper left of the iPhone 17. Went through the process as directed on the infotainment screen but instead of putting the phone on the drivers charging pad, I held the phone at a 90 degree angle to the pad and put the upper left edge of the phone on the NFC symbol on the pad. Sure enough, the pairing bar was displayed on the phone and it took about ten seconds to complete the pairing process.

So I went the weekend using the digital key and completely leaving my keys at home...it was actually pretty nice. I was under the impression you would have to use your phone and tap the handle of the door like you would that stupid little credit card key we all got (most of us anyway), but to my surprise as long as the phone is on you you can lock/unlock the doors. Same goes with starting the truck. No need to take your phone out and tap the charging area or place it in the pad. I just put the phone on my mount above the AC vent and started the truck no problem.

My phone (Android) showed an icon in the upper left corner of the phone when near the truck. If you select the icon you get the same options as you would w/ the app LOCK/UNLOCK/VENTALIATON. Having remote start/stop would be EXTREMELY nice, but again, not paying for that sh*t!. Unfortunately once it starts getting too hot I'll have to carry the keys to cool off the truck because this South Carolina heat/humidity sh*t is for the birds.

The ventilation feature is free on the app.

Yes. This is why I want this feature to work! The key card has never excited me at all. I really don't get the point of it. Take it out to tap the door handle to get in. Then need to put it in the charging slot. Blah.

The Phone as Key function is what it says it is: the phone acts exactly like the fob. Keep it in your pocket. Never have to take it out to unlock or start the truck.

My wife's BMW has it and it's truly a cool feature that I was looking for in this truck as well.

I have had my truck for 14 months. Still no digital key. Ridiculous already.
