It's designing an exhaust system, not rocket science. The biggest "r&d" is essentially them figuring out where to put a resonator to eliminate drone lol. It does not take them long at all to create & test prototypes.

I'm being a bit facetious, but it does not take Borla 1.5 years to develop an exhaust system. It's literally all they do, and if they thought there was enough profit, they'd have released the exhaust about a week after the first trucks hit the lot.

What I'm trying to say is: They're not in slaving away in the lab working countless hours trying to design the perfect RHO exhaust. They're simply just taking forever because they don't see $$$ in it. That is literally the only reason why it's taking so long. When there's a hot car coming to the market, Borla releases an exhaust for it extremely fast.

It's why I (personally) am just going to support a smaller manufacturer who is introducing parts to the RHO platform.

Borla is awesome though, and I hope their offerings are available soon!

FACTS. R&D for an exhaust does not take years, maybe a month or two if they were slow. They arent sending a rocket to space or building quantum computers.

Literally some 3 inch stainless tubing, if they saw demand for it, it would be out already.

R&D is a long, imprecise, and expensive process. It takes time & $$$ to do things right.

IMO: I don't see any need to rush. I'll wait for Borla and Corsa before making any decisions.

While I don't disagree, my issue is Borla has actually given me several timeframes, only to have nothing to show when the forecasted week rolls around (I have spoke with them on the phone and had email communication....Corsa as well).

@Mikey Swift: The only exhaust I saw for Corsa was the SO, not the HO. Do you have a link to the video you're referencing? When I talked to the guy at Corsa on the phone in July, he basically said not to anticipate a release any time in the foreseeable future.

I've emailed them three or four times.

I chalk it up to them trying to "get it right" rather than "get it first".

I worked in R&D for IBM. Sometimes things you "think" will be quick, take a shit-load of time....

Realistically it's an exhaust, there's only so much they can do to improve the sound of the engine. If they've been working on it for over a year, they've probably used all their tech and still haven't come up with a good set up. Then it goes into the demand part and whether or not they think the money spent on continued R&D is worth the cost. If it's taking this long, they're probably having an issue making it sound good. If they don't think it sounds good, and they also think market demand is minimal, I can see them pushing the release off indefinitely.

I was originally going to go with that, but it requires cutting of the OEM exhaust. I want to keep the original exhaust intact, so I'm going with a full catback.

While I was considering it though, I thought it was a great sound for a very affordable price. If you don't mind to cut the OEM exhaust, I'd think it's a good option. I'm sure you already have, but I'd check YouTube- there's quite a few videos of it.

Yea I’ve heard it on their website - I will say I’m almost at 10k miles and while it sounds weak when the truck starts up, the exhaust has gotten stronger after the truck has been broken in, has a nice growl and pop when I punch it. So I am torn bc at the end of the day it’s v6 so I don’t think anything is going to make it sound as mean as the truck looks

Yeah I agree, I personally think the engine sounds great. I think the main issue is just that it doesn't "fit" being the exhaust note of a truck. I'm going to go loud with mine (AFE Vulcan), and if any v8 truck owner comments on the sound I'll just blow the doors off them (minus a TRX or Raptor R of course )

And no public info yet wasn't sure if it was leaked or anything. They were looking for a shop to pair up with for the launch so i suggested our second truck. It sucks not knowing what it sounds like though lol.
