Exhaust Options

Well I was hoping to get some clips of the aFe done this weekend but North Texas weather and my wife's kidney stone pretty well ruled that out. So as soon as I can get a free moment I'll find a back road in Mexico and get you guys some clips.
I went ahead and ordered my aFe from 797 yesterday. Super excited. Do you think it's overly loud? Can you elaborate a bit more on your thoughts in general on it? Thanks!

Would like to hear more, but I thought the Atak sounded really good. It had a lower tone to it.
I didn't hear that tone. Deepest tone i have heard is on the AFE. I like that one the best. Was hoping for more from Borla but it was underwhelming. Corsa is talking about January for their release which is crazy. AFE for the win for me. Can justify the extra cash for AWE and to be honest it sounds louder than the AFE but not deeper.

It can get pretty loud at times. Cold start is pretty aggressive. But cruising isn't bad at all. It does get some drone in the 2200-2400 RPM range but it's not excessive and won't hinder a conversation at normal volume or anything. It doesn't bother me in any way and my wife has yet to complain about it being too loud. She has with other exhausts on other vehicles I've had but so far she's been pretty happy with this one. So if mama approves....

In the upper RPM range, it does get quite aggressive but that's normally where you want it that way, too. Again, not excessive....just lets you know it's there. I think you'll be happy with it. I have zero complaints

Definitely an improvement. Its a very deep sound. It has 0’drone, and its not overpowered at all while normal driving. Now when you get on it , it growls man. Definitely do not recommended if you are one of those that are trying to see how good of gas mileage we get on these trucks. Because the sound is addictive.
That’s what I’m talking about brother! Exactly what I wanted to hear! As far as gas mileage goes…. I gave up on that after the 2nd month. Hahahaha

I am in Broward. 1 hour away. I will definitely keep them in mind if you recommend them. I have a few places up here for truck mods that are solid but not exhaust specialist. Thanks.
Nice. Just make sure you get there by the time they open, since it gets packed!!!

Anyone have the MBRP or GTHaus exhaust installed yet?

I went with MRT. None of the others enticed me to spend that much , including the MRT. But I wanted more than stock and I figured for $500 bucks , if I don’t like it after 6 months or a year i will replace it with a cat-back option that manifests that I actually want to open my wallet for.

And do you like the MRT? Which one did you get? Thats what I was thinking of going with, but now I am thinking about spending a little more for a Cat Back.

MBRP was looking for someone to work with on launching the system(a shop) I volunteered my truck again. Haven't heard much.

sorry for hiatus

Looks like it’s available on the MBRP website. Dual H-pipe design and roughly $1500.

Anyone see these direct fit Flowmasters?

Interesting - I just don't understand these straight pipe systems like MBRP or AFE. Why not just cut the muffler off and replace with straight pipes or an X or H pipe?

Yeah it has been up but doesn't show available to order on their portal or any ETA just yet.

These are for a regular ram unfortunately. High Output runs a dual with that random flange, SO has the 1 in two out.

which is essentially what the MRT mid-pipes do. Literally take out the stock muffler and replace it with straight pipes .

I got the extremes. I’m an instant gratification type of person and I wanted something I could install fairly quick without a lift or didn’t want to wait to schedule an appointment at the shop to have a whole cat-back system installed. The amount of time I spent on my back installing the mid pipes was about my limit for working with my arms over my head!! Shoulders are shot. No way I was installing the whole cat-back setup on my back. And I like them. Probably a little loud for some on a cold start and when getting on it and there is some minor drone. But all in all , for the price , and an hour or 2 to install, was worth it for me . YMMV
