New info on 98 mph top speed.

I surprised by the amount of people saying they will never hit or exceed 98. Bunch of grandpas. Y’all are making this truck sound not cool.

I agree, and I am 100% against Ram doing this, but also trucks absolutely suck at those speeds honestly. If you wanna go over 100mph consistently, buy a performance car like a BMW m4. Those are literally designed in every single way to be ran at well in excess 100 MPH, and it won't feel like it's going to fall off the road/explode at those speeds. Not to mention, good luck running this thing at anywhere near that and having enough braking power to stop basically more than once with the OEM setup. It's a 7,000lb vehicle.

It's not remotely a deal breaker for me.

This is a more of a 0-60mph, cruising at 90ish kind of vehicle- not a top speed, race around going 130mph vehicle.

I dont think anyone is consistently trying to hit top speed for long periods of time BUT it's def possible to easily hit 100 + when doing some real highway passing time to time.

Even in my brick of a jeep it had a top speed of 114mph and there were multiple occasions on route 80 by me going and coming from work that even keeping up with traffic you're doing 85mph already. You wanna pass a little or do a tiny bit of spirited driving 98mph topping out would be annoying to me at least. That would set my ocd off lol

No you're right. I do think a rebel with more of a old school truck suspension will handle much worse at high speed than a long travel baja truck that's designed to not only go high speeds but do it in harsh conditions like the dessert.

Rho should be more stable at those speeds than the rebel.

Both my SRT10’s were down right scary at 145mph the dumbo ears for mirrors would shake and the whole truck felt like it was floating….. and I loved it!

Yeah I guess, but it's still a massive, tall, 7,000lb vehicle with a crappy brakes, a shit ton of wind resistance and fat, squishy, high sidewall 35" off road tires. Nothing about trucks is efficient for high speeds. I'm sure an RHO still feels like it's going to fly off the road at those speeds, regardless of suspension. Again, just my 2 cents. I'll take the car out when I'm looking for that kind of action. I mostly come from the performance car area of things so I'm probably just biased from being in those vehicles for such a long time. Once you drive those cars, trucks feel like a joke at those speeds.

I hit 152 in my stinger. Wind made it pretty scary. Car stable. Did 118 in RHO. No turning obviously but it felt planted and stable.

Right now its false advertising on the website stating 540HP. But like I said before, unless Ram is temporarily using this new software program until they finish a final new update restoring the 540HP and correcting all other issues.
I just think Ram is trying to get it straightened out by them leaving their website the way it is.

Nobody has proven the HP is lower than 540 yet. We know for sure the top speed is below advertised for some.

You ain't lyin' about the brakes being crappy. I took the Braptor out the other day, came to a stop sign in the neighborhood and when I tapped the brakes, I damn near got thrown through the windshield. I had gotten so used to having to push the RHO brakes very hard and firm.
