New info on 98 mph top speed.

I just double checked the other day and my SVT Raptor still has no trouble getting the needle somewhere between the 120 and 130mph mark. And it’d probably do better than that, but we ain’t got smooth enough roads around here for me to want to find out how much better.

That said, the only time speed limiters are acceptable is when they are tied to something like the rated tire speed. I hate nanny devices and I’m definitely going to be irked if they’ve hamstrings this thing before I’ve even gotten a chance to drive it.

Something else I didn't consider.... the 0-60 timer on the dash also has the 0-100 timer. I can't even go 100!! lol. But this is the new normal, permanent top speed according to Ram.

I agree, and I am 100% against Ram doing this, but also trucks absolutely suck at those speeds honestly. If you wanna go over 100mph consistently, buy a performance car like a BMW m4. Those are literally designed in every single way to be ran at well in excess 100 MPH, and it won't feel like it's going to fall off the road/explode at those speeds. Not to mention, good luck running this thing at anywhere near that and having enough braking power to stop basically more than once with the OEM setup. It's a 7,000lb vehicle.

It's not remotely a deal breaker for me.

This is a more of a 0-60mph, cruising at 90ish kind of vehicle- not a top speed, race around going 130mph vehicle.

This was supposed to be a global platform vehicle (hence the I6 3l). It is not about the top speed. In other parts of the world people drive 90-100 all the time (highway of course). Now, if something happens around you and you need speed with this you get nothing....

I hit 152 in my stinger. Wind made it pretty scary. Car stable. Did 118 in RHO. No turning obviously but it felt planted and stable.

Yeah…until you need to make an evasive maneuver or stop quickly.

I’ve done a panic stop from about 50 mph in RHO. Lets just say, I’d never want to experience that at 100+.

Is it the same brakes as the TRX? Cause I actually was impressed with the brakes on the trx and that tuck is even heavier by a few hundred pounds than the RHO.

But on a real note, WTF Ram. You keep fucking us at every turn. Sad thing is this is the only truck i want right now. My truck still does over 100 mph and over 400hp on read out but just waiting for the shit update to be uploaded at the dealership . Im turning wifi in my truck off.

Ram can always offer 20inch wheels and larger (Defender OCTA) brakes on the RHO...
