New info on 98 mph top speed.

That sounds like a lazy response from the dealer. That PCM flash was supposed to be for EXPORT RHO's specifically identified by VIN via the VIP inquiry process. Sounds like they didn't do that. Have you even tuned your ECU/PCM or watched somebody do it? If you don't do it right, you can brick your ECU/PCM (and in turn, your entire vehicle,) and thereby you have to be very cognizant of what you're doing.

Your dealer should be chastised by RAM for doing that in the first place, (it was for INTERNATIONAL RHO's bound for export!), and then to compound the situation, the response you received from Stellantis is more than just unacceptable, if I were Kuniskis, I wouldn't want people that incompetent working for me.

I know everyone shit on the @IdealRace guy, but he did point out first, that software 68733601AA did seem to be the only available option downloaded into the witech, or whatever the tech computer is.

I know time is money for dealership employees, but I will personally pay someone in here that works at a dealer to walk back into their service dept and ask a Tech or if you are a tech, to look and see if this is still true.

MD makes more by putting the truck on the lot than they do with the sold order. Would have to be a lot to start having an inventory backup

I’ve already sent all the screen shots and info to my NDCS agent. It’s moving pretty quick and lawyers at Ram have already asked for an extension because they’re on vacation for a few days. Lol

Lots of good information in here. Quick clarification, it seems pretty sure that they are limiting the top speed to 98 now, but are we also suspecting that they will be limiting the engine from the 540hp and 521 torque? If so, that is a dealbreaker for me.

I tested mine today. According to the onboard computer, I had full boost and all 540 HP. No idea on top speed because I have never attempted to go over 98mph

Again, there is ZERO proof any RHO isn’t achieving HP and Torque numbers as delivered. We have two data screens in the vehicle reporting different values, so very clearly there is a SW problem. I very highly doubt there’s anybody in this forum or elsewhere with a RHO topped out at 400hp actual… would be interested in seeing a dyno sheet on that if so.

The 98mph issue is completely separate and has been confirmed by a few. That’s truly unfortunate for those who care to go beyond this. I’m curious to see what comes of this one!

I totally get them not wanting to test the speed. Tell them I’ll pay a 30 minute diag fee for them to check witech for current PCM software # or to ask their field rep if all this is true. Give them all the details and see what they shake out!!

Ok just hit the pedal to the metal earlier today and I can confirm I was able to easily surpass 98mph… this after having my truck serviced at the dealer two days ago .

I’m going to say, knowing RAM, I have a hard time believing that this is actually true long term . It’s more believable that an incorrect update went out to some of you who are impacted. I can smell lawsuits otherwise … I mean come on , in the current political environment, it’s all about less restrictions, drill baby drill , why the hell would they wanna neuter the truck at this point.
