I tried the paddles and couldn't figure out how to turn that shit off -- short of putting it in Park -- so now I just tap the shifter over to sport, get the upshift and then tap it back to drive. Easier than messing with the paddles. MPG is now up to 15.9 over my first 1200 miles - which have admittedly been driven like a grandma, but I wanted confirmation that if driven carefully, the EPA estimates can be achieved -- at least in areas with fairly low 60-70 mph highway speeds. Now that I have that established, the next tank will be driven like I drove my old truck and I'm expecting probably 14 - just like most V8s. Just the nature of the beast. I still think this powertrain would have been way better and more efficient in the real world had they stuck to the 3.4-3.5L size that others (Ford/Yota) use. Unless you are on a dead-level or downhill stretch, or have a tail wind, this motor simply doesn't have the off-boost nuts needed to keep the truck moving at anything over 70.
