Warning light illumination unavailable - service required

My truck has been giving me this message. Interestingly enough, it pops up after I get a warning light. For example, if I leave the tailgate down, I get a warning that my tailgate is down. I can hit OK, and then I get the warning for illumination lamp. Any warning I get triggers this warning. I then hit OK, and back to driving normally again.

Adding this to my short list.

Maybe it’s just saying there is no light/symbol for this warning….and there is nothing wrong with the dash…Good find though and hopefully others will monitor that as well!

I'm randomly at startup getting the Illumination warning but I don't get it after normal events (like the tailgate down).

Question, mine has been in the shop for over a month waiting for the new gauge to come in. Does anybody know if this “fix” actually works?

Don’t know. I haven’t taken mine in yet because I haven’t encountered any real issue with it… and I don’t want to get stuck at the dealer

Question, why is yours stuck at the shop? Does the cluster not work at all? Or other issues beyond the warning message?

unrelated issue but i was forced to leave my truck because of the cluster being ordered with X mileage and by driving it it will display inaccurate info.

The dealer doesn't set the mileage for the new cluster at the time of install?
Did something change in Ram land for the RHO version?
This doesn't make any sense.

On the digital stuff its kinda been that way, set with the mileage ordered.

When i left in 2022 we were still doing that..car stayed...cluster came in you did have to do some sort of configuration depending on the architecture of the vehicles electronics.. The fiat stuff was always a proxi alignment after install but what we enter in witech did not dictate what showed up on the actual cluster.

Sometimes cars would go and come back and we'd slam the cluster in and hey its documented that is wrong. (Service writers being careless).

hmmm, we are getting different info.

I just talked to the parts department (cluster will be arriving in a week). Per this dealer they program the cluster at time of install, according to them, they can for certain set the mileage on a new cluster, no issue with the truck being driven.

I guess we will see what happens in a week

I wonder if that’s why my dash screen never adjusts or dims at night even though I have the dimmer switch to the lowest setting possible so it’s nice and dark. My center screen dims at night but the dash stays fully bright like if it was 12pm

Did you ever get this figured out?

I had an issue the other day where I had headlights on Auto, but couldn't get the cluster to dim at all - UConnect would dim just fine.

Anyone here experienced the issue where the RPMs on the cluster lag to the actual engine pull/sound? I'm thinking a need new cluster too because I've had issues with illumination, warning message and the whole cluster lagging (mostly the RPMs but it will lag bad when changing screens)

yes. Still waiting for them to fix it. They said it need a reflash. Will see. But sometimes the screen freezes and I can't even see how fast I'm going lol. And got the Warning light illumination unavailable today

I'm waiting for dealership to receive new brake booster and once I put it in shop they will fix the software.. not sure what they did, the issues started when I asked them to activate the "automatic door locking", once I sat in the truck all cluster settings were set to default etc.. think they messed up .. unless the cluster is bad and it's just coincidence

· 3/27/25 Bought RHO
· 4/1/25 1st noticed the Frontal Collision turned off Warning light on.
· 4/14/25 Noticed the blind spot warning lights flashing from the left to right mirror repeatedly and the radio started out blank on start up then slowly from bottom left would fill in, adaptive cruise control when set to the closest setting would reset itself back to longest range.
· 5/12/25 Warning Light Illumination Unavailable Service Required. This has happened several times during April and up to this date. I called the Service Department and scheduled a appointment for 5/16/25.
· 5/16/25 Service received the truck. I explained everything going on with it. They did a reset of the truck but didn’t know what was causing these issues.
· 6/6/25 All the same issues above were still happening. The reset did nothing. Warning Light Illumination Unavailable Service Required
· 6/29/25 Check Engine Light came on for several minutes and turned off.
· 7/1/25 Check Engine Light came on along with Warning Light Illumination Unavailable Service Required.
· 7/2/25 Trailer Brake Disconnected Warning and Service Trailer Brake System Warning. Called the Service Department and set up an appointment.
· 7/7/25 Scheduled Appointment Mainly for the Check Engine Light and to fix the other Warnings. They told me that it needed a module but were going to order 3 modules and replace all 3. Said 2 were a week out and the other is a dealer only part and was going to have to get another dealership to let the part go.
· 7/10/25 Started up my truck to go home and these were on SOS Call Unavailable, Service Electric Stability Control, Service Trailer Brake System Warnings. (Pictures) My house is 15 miles from my work. By the time I had driven 3 miles these were on Blind Spot Alert Unavailable, Service Airbag System, Service Active Damping System, Four Wheel Drive System Temporarily Unavailable, Traffic Sigh Assist Unavailable and the Mileage was flashing. Once home I took pictures and a video of it. Sent them to the Service Advisor. He said thank You and I can get you in for service the next week.
· 7/11/25 Got up to go to work and the truck was dead. No power at all. I advised my Sales Representative and called the Service Advisor. The Service Advisor said to call roadside assistance and that he was going on vacation next week and he would let one of the other Advisors handle it while he was out. Roadside Assistance sent a tow truck. The driver attempted to jump the truck with a jump box, and it wouldn’t start. He said this box will jump the roll back he was driving.

My experience so far. It's still in the shop well the parking lot dead!
