Digital Key Activation

Hey folks! Kori here, long time no talk!

Our statement should have said sales code, not window sticker, which was completely my fault -- I am so sorry for the confusion! We have been checking to ensure the proper SALES CODE was present.

Once again, an error on my part and apologies for the confusion. I've edited that specifically in the original post from yesterday (2/12/26) to correct.

Got excited to see the option to set up the digital key but I don’t have the tile in the app on my phone. Get stuck at this screen. Is everyone else seeing this screen too?

@RamCares do the rolling updates include an update to the Ram App too? Looks like my truck is ready but can’t get the app to cooperate.

Everybody has this on Uconnect and NOBODY has this on app so you're in the norm.

C’mon folks. Might as well say it depends on whether we have flux capacitors in our trucks or not.

Where do we find our Sales Codes and which Sales Codes qualify?

This is nonsense, the Digital Key has been advertised throughout the lifespan of the RHO.

I rushed to check if the update included my 2025 — I saw the 2024s already had it. But to my frustration, I now have the trailer brake failure recall notice and no tile in my ram app.
At this point, I’m honestly done with this truck. I’ve had just about every issue you can think of, and then some. It’s been really hard to love this truck after everything. @RamCares

What is a sales code and which RHO sales codes are ineligible for digital key?

So…now it’s something even more obscure that we can’t check ourselves?

Sales Codes are listed on the build sheet. On my RAM App, SMARTPHONE AS A KEY CAPABLE is shown in the Digital Glovebox > Vehicle Equipment > Other section, fourth from the bottom of the list. If you have a My Garage account set up on mopar.com, you can find your truck's equipment list through the Quick Links at the bottom of the Dashboard page.

You're the man! Found it and I am capable thankfully. Now just the waiting game still

I am admittedly ignorant, but I can't find any of this on my app

I found it in the app by going to the digital glovebox, then vehicle equipment, then other, it is the fourth item from the bottom. I think only level ones have it.
"Smartphone as key capable"

That helped a lot, thank you! Now what do you do?

Hi everyone! I just received the below update:

FANTASTIC NEWS! We are finally moving forward with the Digital Key launch! As we've been saying since October, this is a limited, rolling launch, to ensure everything goes as smoothly as possible.

The current launch is for vehicles built in 2024, which means that there could be folks on this forum who receive the update this week. The initial launches for any type of over-the-air update are always focused in the Metro Detroit area. For those whose VINs we have been collecting who are 2025 builds, we are still waiting to hear when the 2025s will be launched.

As a reminder, you do have to have the feature listed on your SALES CODE (corrected 2/13/26 from incorrect statement of window sticker) to be eligible for it. We did have a few people reach out early on who did NOT have it, so we just wanted to make sure to address that again.

You should see the following release notes for this specific update:

Spaak SOP 5.0 Release Notes:

This update enables Ram Digital Key on your iPhone® or a compatible Android™ device which allows you to unlock and start your vehicle in place of your key fob. Please visit the Mopar YouTube channel for more information on how to set up and use Ram Digital Key.

As we hear more information on additional launch timings, including when to expect 2025 builds to be included, we will share it.

Hannah, I have a L1 built in Nov 2024, and I still have nothing as of this week. I sent you guys my VIN months ago to get into the queue.
What gives?

That helped a lot, thank you! Now what do you do?
Now we wait until they get our apps updated, they are doing some vins first, then who knows. My expectations are not to favorable but my hopes are high.

Q: Why is Stellantis and/or @RamCares not able to simply articulate and confirm whether the Digital Key is a feature that only Level 1 Rho’s are eligible for?

A: Because there really never was a clear vision or a unified strategy for which vehicles were supposed to have it. So they need to double back on paper trails to see where it was put in print (Smartphone as Key Capable). In most cases that means Level 1’s but no one was steering the ship. They’re still trying to figure out what they intended and they need to figure out what was put in print.

Takeaway: We have class leading trucks built by a struggling company that has a dizzying almost unworkable corporate structure with multiple different companies, marketing departments, legal departments and operations departments that are all operating in silos. Just ask yourselves how many different companies have had a hand in developing and building these trucks. Electric architecture from Fiat? Enough said.

Don’t believe me? Ask Stellantis themselves. I’ve had Stellantis reps tell me that the various companies, divisions and departments that operate under Stellantis cannot speak to each other. That’s really not the case, they just prefer not to speak to each other. Take a look at this Jalopnik article. Different issue but it demonstrates how Stellantis’ silo’d structure affects the customer. An old post of mine from the Ram forums is referenced in the article.

After I saw a post on Facebook group about someone’s digital key working, I gave it a try.

Digital key unlocks and starts truck.

Have no digital key tile on my Ram App, have updated.

Digital Key is not connected to the truck.

Anyone else?

You are just remote starting the truck and using the app to unlock the truck. We can all do this by paying for the subscription. Digital key is different. It allows you to drive the truck without a key fob. You can unlock/lock and start the truck with the app but you cannot drive the truck without the “Digital Key” or physical key fob.
