Digital Key Activation

You are just remote starting the truck and using the app to unlock the truck. We can all do this by paying for the subscription. Digital key is different. It allows you to drive the truck without a key fob. You can unlock/lock and start the truck with the app but you cannot drive the truck without the “Digital Key” or physical key fob.

Umm , I can do all that from the app and I don’t have a subscription to anything? Is that supposed to be a paid feature?

I’ve had my truck since December 2024. And although remote lock/unlock is included. I think remote engine start from the app is not included in that 10yr trial and you have to pay for it after 3 months.

Except REMOTE START isn't included in that. You have to pay for the subscription in order to get the remote start option.

They should say “select models with select packages” if they’re really excluding “level 0” sorry maybe I’m a little sour about this whole thing

After I saw a post on Facebook group about someone’s digital key working, I gave it a try.

Digital key unlocks and starts truck.

Have no digital key tile on my Ram App, have updated.

Digital Key is not connected to the truck.

Anyone else?

Just so to clarify, so this thread doesn’t turn into a full blown Abbott & Costello routine, you can leave all of your key fobs in the house, along with the digital key cards, and go out to your truck with just your phone, start the truck and drive away?

No! Not until the Digitial Key feature becomes available. you can remote start if you still have your active trial but need the fob in order to fully start and drive off.

The key card is essentially another fob. If you took that out I don’t believe it would let you drive. It shouldn’t anyway…
