Digital Key Activation

UPDATE: I waited 18 months to get my digital key. Had it 2 days. No bueno for me. If you have a Samsung phone, I have the S25+, the digital key function is a pain in ass. The digital key itself has to go in your Samsung wallet. It automatically switches on your Bluetooth and the wallet constantly sends you messages that your key is in range even if youre sitting in your house. The fix is to disable your UWB (ultra wide band) connection. But you need it to open your truck without touching your phone on the door or putting your phone on top of the wireless charger for an NFC connection to start the truck. Another fix from the constant truck in range message is to turn off passive entry. But that again makes it so you have to touch the door. I live in a 3000 sq ft single story home and no matter where I am in the house i get the truck in range message. So I have to turn uwb off in the house then turn it back on on the way to the truck. Along with Bluetooth. I would rather just carry a fob in my pocket and do nothing. I keep the fob in a Faraday bag in the home so as not to wake up the truck. I dont know if Apple is like this but its not convenient on a Samsung. AT ALL. Unpaired, final answer.
I have a Samsung as well. You don't need to turn off all that stuff! In the Wallet app, there is a toggle to turn off "in range" messages.

Open the Wallet app, choose the "All" menu at the bottom (right next to Quick Access). In the upper right, click the 3 dots menu and Settings. Near the bottom is "Notifications" - Choose that and then Digital keys. Turn it off

Hope that helps!

I got an email back from Patrick today, it’s good to see someone that takes the time to help people instead of putting you off. Thanks for posting his email here.
Wish he would reply to me. I sent my email on Saturday.

Got ALL the TSBs based on the email thread that was started thanks to this thread (THANK YOU!). Now I wait... I let them know that it was updated and since nothing has shown up in the app, they have to pull some sort of lever on their end to get it working.

I did see that, but my question is, just because you dont see the "in range" message, is it waking up the truck? My main concern is battery drain not necessarily the messages. If that makes sense.

This may have been covered earlier, but I forgot where I saw it and asking for help. So, I got this message on my iPhone asking for a RAM Pairing Code for the digital key. I got excited thinking after 15 months of ownership my number may have come up and I'll get it. For the life of me, I can't find the "RAM Pairing Code" anywhere in the owner's manual or on when I login into my RAM Connect account online. Has anyone else ran into this and resolved the issue? Any thoughts @RamCares?

Does anything pop up on your uconnect? Maybe if you try and add a digital key?

From AI:

To pair the Ram app with your truck for the Digital Key feature, you need the 6-digit activation code (formatted as XXX-XXX).
This code is generated directly on your truck's Uconnect touchscreen, rather than being located in any of your printed manuals.
How to get the 3-digit-dash-3-digit code on your screen:
Turn your truck's ignition to the ON/RUN position.
On your Uconnect center touchscreen, tap the Apps icon (usually the grid of dots or the App drawer).
Look for and select the Digital Key App.
Tap Add Owner Key on the screen.
This will initiate the setup process and generate the 6-digit pairing code (split as XXX-XXX) directly on your truck's touchscreen.
Once you see the code on your screen, enter it into your Ram phone app to link them.

⚠️ Crucial Step for iPhone/Android to actually complete the pair:
Once you input the code, the app will tell you to place your phone on the truck's wireless charging pad to finish the pairing.
Because of where the NFC antennas are positioned inside the console, regularly dropping the phone straight down onto the pad often fails to connect. If you get a connection error after putting in your code:
Remove your phone case.
Lay the phone sideways (horizontally) across the charging pad rather than vertically, ensuring the volume buttons/left side of the phone are facing the left side of the pad. This aligns the antennas perfectly and allows the pairing to complete instantly.

Yea, never got an email response from Tim or Nick. Was hoping I'd be referred to a tech, but no dice. I just sent an email to Patrick. I'll update if he responds.

Thanks! I'll try that and report back.

this only works if you have the digital key tile on the App, which a lot of people here don't have

I was under the impression he had it on his phone since his phone was asking for the passcode

Ah, yeah. I don't have that tile. Phone wants to connect but I don't have the tile. Bummer @RamCares

I think very few people will actually hear back from Nick or Tim. It took a few days for me to be contacted and the email did say he was contacting me on behalf of Nick. I did send a follow up to the guy who emailed me explaining my situation and at that time I at least had a case number, but never heard back from him. I sent another email to Patrick over the weekend and he got back to me Monday morning saying he sent my VIN to their team responsible for the digital key and said he would do a follow up. That was yesterday so now it’s just a waiting game, but at least I feel like I’m getting somewhere.

I emailed Patrick over the weekend as well and haven’t heard back
Same. Hoping I see some progress in the next few days. I'm ready for all the minor glitches and features to finally be taken care of and working right.
