If you have Android, its overrated. You phone constantly connects to the truck from inside your house and the truck wakes up on occasion. Just as easy to use the fob or the key card. I carry the key card and it works great. Tap the door, put it in the wireless charging slot and youre off. Easy peasy. I also have remote start on the Ram app and I use the fob.
Let us know which ones when you find out, I have another dealership appointment on Monday.
I agree. I have android as well. Too glitchy for me at this point. I uninstalled it. I just use the key fob. It works flawless.
I have an iPhone. I’ve been buying these leather cases that have a clip on them from Amazon that I clip on my belt loop so I don’t have more than I need in my pockets. I like the case and have used them for years now, but I have had them fail and the fob fall to the ground. Luckily I have always noticed it and never lost a fob, but it is a concern and digital key would be perfect for my job and daily life.
Delete the app then re-install

I deleted and reinstalled the RAM app but the issue remains. It’s weird it can unlock and lock but not start.
Fortunately this has not been my experience. The phone is in range that I have the notification on my phone but it does not wake up.my truck until I'm in the same range as I would need to be with the actual key fob. The only time I find it annoying is when I'm working out in my garage and the truck is in the driveway. My solution is I put the phone just out of range approx 15 feet. So I wouldn't say the app/feature is a waste. It's actually been super convenient, much smoother than I ever imagined
Do you have a list of what they performed at the dealer for updates / TSBs?
After the 1st install of the key, which took about a dozen attempts, it would not wake up my truck unless I put the cell right up to the door handle. That allowed me to lock and unlock the doors that way but I could not start the truck.
Any further update on this? I have a 2026 and it was supposed to have digital key but it only has the card, no option in the app. as I was told it would have.EDIT 10/14/25, 11:30 AM EST: Cut off to receive messages is NOON EST. As promised, we are here with some news about the impending launch of the Digital Key to our model year 2025 Ram trucks. The next phase of deployment is a software launch to a small subset of customers and will continue from there in small increments to ensure there are no issues before/during/after deployment.
Since we know this is a highly anticipated feature launch, and we also know none of you here are shy about letting us know if any issue arises, we would like to include forum members in this initial deployment so you can be some of the first access the feature.
If you own a 2025 model and would like to ensure you are part of the first wave, which we anticipate to be deployed by the end of next week (timing subject to change at any time for any reason), all we ask is that you send a private message with the same title as this post, Digital Key Activation, and include your VIN. No additional info needed. Due to the anticipated volume, this will help us keep track of everyone. Please don't expect any additional follow up via that private message besides ato confirm we received your PM.
Our intent is to use this thread to continue posting all additional updates as we receive them. Again, we expect this to be a relatively slow roll out to ensure the best customer experience.
We will be able to accept PMs for VINs until 10/14/25.
After 10/14/25, any VINs received may not be able to be included in the first wave. We do not yet have information on timing for the additional waves.
Thank you all for your support of Ram Cares on the forum so far, and we look forward to a smooth rollout! As with any software-based update, we at Ram Cares will take any feedback you have to provide once the update is received and dispense it back to the software engineers.
EDITED TO ADD: If your vehicle is not already equipped with the initial capability, it cannot be added. We will do a check on VINs as we receive them for the necessary sales code and in the instance your VIN does not have the sales code we will then let you know.
