Digital Key Activation

I just got the OTA update this week as well on my ‘26 (May build) and the tile appeared on my app afterwards. Paired my iPhone and my Apple Watch on the 1st try and so far everything is working.

Anyone else get told SOP 5.5 doesn’t exist? My dealership doesn’t have it

Got the update for my ‘26. Tried to set up the phone about a dozen times now. There was one time where the phone and watch added the key successfully, but uConnect said it failed and the app showed no keys paired (both the uConnect app and phone app). Removed the old key from the wallet, uninstalled/reinstalled the phone app, and tried a few more times - but no dice. Not a huge deal since it’s not a feature I really need. But I get everyone’s frustration now.
Well, interesting turn of events. Today, uConnect prompted for another update. It installed without issue. Tried setting up the mobile key again, and this time it worked on the first try. Zero issues. Strange, but I’m happy to see it’s now working.

Anyone else have the uConnect theme go full dark mode with this latest update?

Got mine in an update yesterday. It works well. I'm happy, as PAAK was the only thing I missed from my Rivian.

I used my phone for the first time today without having a key fob on me and it worked great. Also saw the ventilation is added where it remote starts the vehicle if necessary so that’s an added benefit.

Work in progress for mine. I have the nfc working but not the uwb so no passive entry and when I try to turn on the ventilated seats it says either the truck is running or battery voltage too low. Guess after all this time I should be happy that my phone can replace the credit card but I was really hoping for replacing the key fob.

First, I’d like to call out that Ram Cares and Stellantis have been very helpful and responsive. They have tried to fix my issue including trips to the dealership and updates. However, I have to wait until after August to get a fix. I wanted to share what the diagnosis is as some may have the same issue.
From Ram Cares:
this vehicle has the B22A9 fault.
It cannot receive the FOTA update for SPAAK.
Please ask the dealership to schedule this customer in after August when the replacement routines are available.
Sharing the latest update….basically, September

At this time, the dealerships are unfortunately at a standstill regarding your specific vehicle issue, and there is no action they can take until the corrective update is released. Based on the information currently available, the B22A9 fault is expected to be addressed through a future software update that is planned for release sometime after August.

The good news is that, at this time, we are not aware of the B22A9 fault causing any other vehicle performance, drivability, or safety-related issues. While the fault may remain present until the update becomes available, it is not expected to negatively impact the normal operation of your vehicle.

We understand this situation can be frustrating, and we appreciate your patience while the resolution is being finalized and launched. Once the update is released, your dealership will be able to perform the necessary correction.

That’s shitty. I wonder if those affected will be able to get a ota update to resolve that or if it’s going to require dealerships. As it appears all dealerships are backed up everywhere for multiple weeks

B22A9 fault means they can’t flash your module and it needs to be replaced. I just had the same thing and they replaced it under warranty. Took maybe an hour or two.

Received the update, no issues there...won't detect my phone in the charger though. Has not mattered how I placed it, zero detection despite it obviously being in the cradle with the little blue light on. Will keep trying!
On the positive side of unconnect, clearing my AA cache weekly seems to be working well. No connectivity issues after having nothing but problems! :)

So I finally got around to setting up the digital key with my iPhone 17 pro.

I have a 2026 model.

Everything went smoothly and if I keep my fob in the kitchen, I can go up to the truck and grab the handle and the truck unlocks. Additionally I can start the truck as well. That part works perfectly. The whole time, my phone is in my pocket.

For those of you that have got this working as well, I have a question. How do you then lock/secure the truck without using the app. Might be a stupid question but I couldn't figure it out.

nevermind, I just figured it out.

There are two sensors on the handle. One closest to the key hole for unlocking and another in the front for locking. Pretty slick!

I had to ask this question as well a week or so back. There is a little square indent on your door handle towards the front of the truck side. Just touch it and the doors will lock. Just be aware you can't have your hand on the rest of the handle when you touch it or it wont work.

Has anyone else experienced that since activating the digital key it takes longer for CarPlay to connect? Sometimes I'll get in and it will start immediately but most times now it will take a minute or two for CarPlay to pop up.

Interesting, they are saying a software update will fix it. Thanks!

The first dealer I brought my truck to tried multiple times to flash the module to the latest TSB and it kept failing and said the module had to be replaced and I would have to leave my truck with them while they made a warranty claim and that could take a week, that wasn’t happening so I left. I had been in contact with two reps from Stellantis and one of them said that I didn’t need the module replaced and to return to the dealer.

This time I brought it to a different dealer and explained that I had been in contact with reps from Stellantis and I was advised to give them a printout that was posted in this thread which has instructions for the dealer to follow. The second dealer also failed to update the module and said they didn’t have the module in stock, but ordered it and I had to bring my truck in the next week when they received it.

Save yourself a lot of time and headache and print this and bring it to the dealer and tell them a Stellantis rep told you to give it to them. Is it a little misleading printing out something from some random forum and telling the dealer that you have been talking to Stellantis reps if you haven’t? Possibly, but if you don’t, you will get the run around.

After all of this I still do not have the digital key and haven’t heard back yet from the two reps I have been emailing with, so I guess I’m stuck waiting on some random OTA update. Good luck.

So I’m in the same place, waiting for the OTA that comes out “after August”. The attached is what they did for me too.
